The public record does not establish why Jäger Black Ice is scarce. The name refers to two different items, and each has a different documentation trail. Ubisoft has officially documented a Series 2 Jäger figurine that came with an in-game code. The Black Ice Jäger chibi appears only in community discussion, which describes it as hard to find but gives no edition size. In the game itself, Ubisoft’s Y11S1 Black Ice Pack list does not include any Jäger weapon, so the published pack odds say nothing about Jäger Black Ice.
Two different items share the name
Before asking why one is rare, it helps to know which item a reader means. The table below separates the three that come up in player discussion and official material.
| Item | Type | What the public record establishes | What it does not establish |
|---|---|---|---|
| Black Ice weapon skin (Y11S1 pack) | In-game cosmetic | Announced by Ubisoft on March 2, 2026 as a premium Battle Pass reward pool across 14 weapons | Any Jäger weapon in the pool; the pool does not list one |
| Series 2 Jäger figurine | Physical collectible | Announced by Ubisoft on May 18, 2018 as one of five figurines, with a unique code for exclusive Rainbow Six Siege content | Whether the Black Ice variant shares this figurine’s release details |
| Black Ice Jäger chibi | Physical collectible | Described in a January 13, 2022 community thread asking how to obtain it | Production count, official distribution terms, code redemption status, or current stock |
The in-game Black Ice Packs do not include Jäger
If the title refers to a Jäger Black Ice weapon skin, Ubisoft’s own announcement is the first place to check. Its Black Ice Packs announcement, dated March 2, 2026, sets out the following for the Y11S1 season:
- Two packs are premium Battle Pass rewards, and each grants one Black Ice color-variant weapon skin from the seasonal collection.
- The collection lists 14 weapons, including the 417, AUG A3, M12 and BOSG.12.2.
- Four colors are available: Pink, Red, Purple and Green.
- The stated pack odds are 10% for Pink and 30% each for Red, Purple and Green. Within a color, every weapon has an equal chance. The per-weapon figures are 0.71% for Pink and 2.14% for each other color, which is the color odds split evenly across the 14 weapons.
No Jäger weapon appears on that list. That means the announcement cannot be used to say a player can currently obtain a Jäger Black Ice skin through these packs. It also means the published odds should not be applied to Jäger at all. The announcement covers Y11S1 only, so a later season may use a different pool, and this article does not assume one.

The Series 2 Jäger figurine is officially documented
Ubisoft’s Six Collection announcement of May 18, 2018 introduced the Series 2 chibi figurines. Jäger is one of five, and each figurine includes a unique code for exclusive Rainbow Six Siege content. A Ubisoft News article dated October 12, 2018 says the figures were available from the store at that time.
These two pages confirm the standard Series 2 Jäger figurine and its code. They do not confirm the release details of a Black Ice variant, so they cannot explain its scarcity on their own.

What community reports say about the Black Ice chibi
The clearest public reference to a Black Ice Jäger chibi is a community thread titled “How do I get the Jaeger black ice chibi?”, posted January 13, 2022. In it, a poster quotes an explanation that buying the figure included a code for a Jäger Black Ice weapon charm. Read this carefully:
- It is an anecdotal account, not an official statement.
- A weapon charm is not a weapon skin, so it should not be treated as the same reward as the Y11S1 pack item.
- It does not show how many figures were made, what the official distribution terms were, whether the code is still redeemable, or where the figure is in stock now.
Why it may feel rare, and what cannot be concluded
The most defensible reading is that the Black Ice Jäger chibi appears to be a limited or otherwise nonstandard collectible, and players report difficulty finding one. That is a pattern in community posts, not a verified scarcity figure. The public record does not contain an official edition size, a production note, or a named statement explaining why the figure is hard to get. Any specific count, exclusive giveaway, or guarantee that a code still works would go beyond what is documented.

The answer could change if Ubisoft published a production figure or a dated distribution record for the Black Ice variant, or if a store listing with a release date appeared. Until then, the accurate answer is that the rarity is reported but not quantified.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How to check which item you have
- Confirm the item type. A skin appears in the game’s inventory after a pack is opened or a Battle Pass reward is claimed. A figurine is a physical product, and any code is tied to its packaging or purchase.
- For a skin, compare the weapon with the current pack announcement. If the weapon is not in the listed pool, the announced pack does not offer it.
- For a figurine, check the code’s original packaging or purchase record. Keep proof of purchase.
- If a code does not redeem, contact Ubisoft Support through the official help channels, and include the purchase details and the code’s exact wording. Do not rely on resold codes; the public record gives no basis for assuming they work.
Accounts from before 2026 and posts that quote unnamed sources should be checked against the current official pages before you act on them.
