A Blizzard purchase-eligibility error does not point to one universal cause. It may be tied to parental purchase controls, unfinished age verification, a mismatch between your account region and payment billing region, or a restriction on the specific game, item, platform, or account link. Start with the exact error and purchase, then work through the checks below.
What the eligibility error can mean
Blizzard uses purchase restrictions in several different contexts. Its support guidance says, “Purchases may be restricted for some products, payment methods, or currencies.” The message alone therefore does not establish whether the issue is account-wide, payment-related, or limited to one product. Check the restriction that best matches what happened: a control on the account, a verification prompt, payment or billing details, or a limit affecting one game or item.

Parental Controls
Parental Controls can block purchases in the Battle.net Shop and selected in-game purchases. Review the purchase settings in the Parental Portal. Blizzard says that removing Parental Controls requires contacting Customer Support.

Age verification

Check the payment method and account region
If the message appeared during checkout or refers to a transaction, compare the payment method’s billing information with the details on your Battle.net account. Blizzard advises that the account address, postal code, and country match the payment billing information, and that the payment method have a billing address within the account’s region. For a payment-processing error, Blizzard recommends removing saved billing profiles, clearing browser cache and cookies or trying another browser or device, and then adding the payment method again. Also verify that the method is valid and has funds available. Blizzard notes that a small temporary validation charge may appear and is generally canceled within 24 hours; it is not the same as a completed purchase.

Check for a restriction on the specific game or item
An account may be able to make other purchases while one particular product or transaction is unavailable. Restrictions can depend on the game, item, region, platform, or account connection. For example, Blizzard’s Overwatch 2 guidance lists parental controls, regional restrictions, and a pending console merge among possible reasons a player cannot buy items. Troubleshoot in this order
- Capture the exact message. Note the game, item or service, platform, and whether the error appears before payment, during checkout, or after submitting payment.
- Review purchase controls. Check the Battle.net Parental Portal; for mobile Hearthstone purchases, check the relevant app-store account and device settings instead.
- Complete any age-verification prompt. Follow the country-specific instructions displayed by Blizzard.
- Compare account and payment regions. Confirm the account country and billing details match the payment method’s billing region.
- Reset payment setup if checkout fails. Remove billing profiles, clear cache and cookies or switch browser/device, then add the payment method again and confirm it is valid and funded.
- Check the product and account connection. Look for game-specific availability, regional limits, platform requirements, or a pending account merge.

Because the public guidance describes possible causes rather than the status of an individual account, only Blizzard can review the specific restriction attached to yours. Include the exact error text, the product or item, your platform, when the error occurs, and which checks you have already completed. Do not send full payment-card details in a support message.
