A Roblox T-shirt usually looks blurry for one of two reasons: the source image was already soft, or the image changed size or was re-saved during editing so it no longer matched Roblox’s clothing template. Roblox’s clothing upload guidance points creators to the correct template and to checking image dimensions, so start there before assuming the platform is at fault.
Check the source image first
Before you touch Roblox, open the original file you uploaded and view it at 100 percent zoom. If the design is soft there, the upload is only displaying what you gave it. An upload cannot add detail that was never in the file. This is general image reasoning rather than a Roblox-documented diagnosis, but it is the fastest way to separate a creation problem from a display problem.
Look for these common causes in the original:
- The artwork was exported from a smaller canvas and then enlarged, which stretches pixels.
- The image was saved as a heavily compressed JPG, which leaves visible artifacts around edges and text.
- Thin lines or small text were drawn at a resolution too low for the template’s printed area.
Confirm the template and dimensions
Roblox’s clothing upload issues page, available in its Indonesian-locale help center, says that editing or saving can shift an image’s dimensions by one or two pixels. Roblox notes that this kind of small size change can trigger template-related upload errors. The same page does not say that the shift is the cause of blur, so treat it as a reason to recheck your file rather than as a confirmed explanation.
- Download the current clothing template from Creator Documentation, which Roblox links from its community clothing instructions.
- Open your design in your image editor and set the canvas to the template’s exact pixel dimensions.
- Place your artwork inside the template’s guides. Do not scale the whole template, and do not crop the canvas after placing artwork.
- Export the file in one of the formats Roblox lists for clothing: GIF, PNG, or JPG. The guidance does not rank these formats for sharpness, so PNG is a sensible choice for hard edges, but the source does not prove it will look better.
- Check the saved file’s pixel dimensions again. If they differ from the template by even one or two pixels, re-export at the correct size.
Upload the item through the community flow
For community clothing, Roblox’s instructions describe the following path: open the community Store, choose Create or manage community items, select T-Shirt, Shirt, or Pants, select the image file, name the clothing, and upload. Choose the correct type. A design uploaded as the wrong clothing type can be misread when you compare it with the template you planned for.

Roblox’s separate decal guide explains that decals are regular images similar to T-shirts but cannot be worn. If you meant to make a wearable shirt and uploaded an image intended as a decal, the result will not behave as a shirt. Confirm which item type you created.
Tell a quality problem from a moderation problem
A shirt that looks wrong is not always a display issue. If Roblox blocked, removed, or moderated the item, the notice you received is the authority for next steps. Roblox’s general content-appeal instructions ask for your username, a short reason for the appeal, the asset ID, and a link to the content. According to that support page, the general appeal deadline is 30 days. Confirm the deadline in the notice you received, because it can differ by case.

What to do if the file looks sharp but the shirt still looks blurry
If the original is crisp, the template and dimensions are correct, and the item was not moderated, the problem may lie in how the item appears in a particular view. Roblox’s sources reviewed for this article do not establish whether avatar scaling, Marketplace previews, or the client’s rendering is responsible. Compare the item in a second view or on a second device to see whether the softness follows the file or only one display context. If it persists, contact Roblox Support with the asset ID, the original file, and a screenshot from each view where you see the problem.

The verdict
In most cases the blur starts in the file, not on the platform. Check the original at full zoom, match the Roblox template exactly, export in a supported format, and confirm the item type. If the file is sharp and the item is not moderated, the remaining step is a support request that documents the problem in a specific view.
