If a The Sims 4 expansion is missing, first check three separate things: whether the account owns it, whether it is installed on the platform you use to play, and whether it is active in-game. An expansion does not appear as a separate full-game tile in the EA app Library. On PC or Mac, open Library > The Sims 4 > Manage > Manage add-ons to find and install owned packs.
First, identify where the pack is missing
The right fix depends on what you see. A pack missing from the EA app Library may still be owned: expansions and other add-ons are managed from The Sims 4 game tile, not as separate full games. A pack missing in play may simply be uninstalled or inactive. If it is absent only from an existing save, check whether the pack is active before changing or loading that save.
- Not listed under add-ons: verify the account and purchase status.
- Owned but not installed: download it from the platform store or launcher where you play.
- Installed but unavailable in-game: check pack activation in Manage Storage.
- Missing only in a particular save: check whether the save depends on content from a deactivated pack.
Confirm ownership and purchase status
In the EA app, select Library > The Sims 4 > Manage > Manage add-ons. If the pack is not listed as owned, make sure you are signed into the EA Account used for the purchase. Check your EA Account Order history to see whether the order is complete or still processing. If you bought the pack from a retailer, follow that retailer’s redemption instructions and redeem its code if required. EA’s guidance for missing games in the EA app Library explains why add-ons may not show as separate game tiles and recommends checking the account and order.
If the purchase was made through PlayStation, Xbox, or another store, check the account and purchase history for that store as well. Contact the store that processed the purchase if its order is missing or has not completed. Do not buy the pack again as a troubleshooting step if you already own it.

Install the pack on the platform you play on
Ownership and installation are separate. Make sure the base game is installed and up to date, then use the instructions for your platform. Store and console menu labels can vary with system software.
EA app on PC or Mac
- Open Library and select The Sims 4.
- Choose Manage > Manage add-ons.
- Find the pack under Owned add-ons and select its download icon.
- Wait for the download and installation to finish before launching the game.
PlayStation
- Open the console’s Library or Purchased area and select The Sims 4.
- Open its add-ons, select the purchased pack, and download it.
- Allow the download and installation to complete.
EA’s current pack installation guide says PlayStation users download purchased packs manually. The exact menu path can differ between PlayStation generations and system software.

Xbox
- Open My games & apps > Full library > Owned games.
- Select The Sims 4 > Manage game & add-ons.
- Select the pack and install it.
EA says Xbox normally installs a pack after it is downloaded. If automatic updates are turned off, you may need to start or complete the installation yourself.
In-game Marketplace purchases
For owned content, open Marketplace > My Collection > Manage Storage and install an item if it is marked as not installed. EA says Marketplace content bought with real money on PC should automatically download to the PC platform used to play—EA app, Steam, or Epic Games. Check the in-game collection if it has not appeared in the game.

Check that the pack is installed and active
On PC or Mac, check the EA app’s Manage add-ons page to confirm the pack is installed. In-game, go to Marketplace > My Collection > Manage Storage to inspect installation and activation. The Download Manager can also show a recent download, but it displays only recent downloads, so it is not a complete ownership or installation history.
If the pack is installed but deactivated, use the pack controls in Manage Storage to activate it. Content from a deactivated pack—including clothing, objects, worlds, and gameplay features—will not be available in a save while that pack is inactive. EA recommends disabling mods before changing pack selection and backing up saves. When creating a new save, use Pack Selection carefully if you want to avoid starting without content or progress associated with packs.

Refresh the EA app before reinstalling
If the EA app Library or add-on list looks stale, refresh it before removing and reinstalling the game. EA’s missing Library games guidance recommends clearing the app cache, restarting the EA app, then logging out and back in. For a download or installation error, follow EA’s EA app download and installation troubleshooting, which also directs users to clear the cache through App Recovery. Reinstalling the EA app is a later option, not the first check.

If ownership, installation, and activation all look correct but the pack remains unavailable, contact EA Help or the relevant platform store support, depending on where you bought it. EA’s missing-content guidance also recommends checking that you are on the correct EA Account, restarting the system, and checking service status.
