Roblox usually refuses a login for one of five reasons: the password is wrong or forgotten, the email or username doesn’t match a verified account, a 2-Step Verification code has expired or been rejected, the browser is blocking the security check, or someone else may have access to the account. Identifying which of these you’re hitting tells you which fix to try first.
Match the error to the cause
Roblox’s own help topics fall into a few recurring problems. The table below pairs each symptom with the most likely cause and the first step to take. Work through the row that matches what you see, not every fix at once.

Check the login identifier first
If you sign in with an email address, that exact address must be verified on the account. A common failure is an email that was never verified, or one that is attached to several Roblox usernames. In the second case, Roblox requires you to sign in with the username itself. Try your username and password before assuming the password is wrong. Typos in the username are also easy to miss, and the login page does not always say which identifier caused the rejection.
Recover a forgotten password
Roblox’s password reset works only through a recovery contact already attached to the account: the associated email address or phone number. Follow these steps:

- On the Roblox login page, select Forgot Password or Username?
- Enter the account’s current associated email. Roblox sends a reset link to that address.
- If the email does not arrive within a few minutes, check your spam or junk folder and other filtered folders.
- If the account has a phone number but no email, use the Phone tab and follow the verification prompts.
- Choose a new password that you do not use on any other site or service.
If the reset email goes to an address you no longer control, the reset will not reach you. In that case, move to the support path described below.
When the account has no recovery contact
If no email or phone is attached, Roblox’s self-service reset cannot work. Contact Roblox Customer Support and describe the login problem in as much detail as you can. Roblox may ask questions to verify ownership. The first email added to the account, or the billing email used for its first payment, can help that check, but neither guarantees that the account can be recovered.
Fix 2-Step Verification code failures
If your password is accepted and the verification step then blocks you, the problem is almost always the code itself. Start with the inbox: confirm you are checking the email address on the account, then look in spam and other filtered folders.

If the code does not appear or has stopped working, use Resend Code or Start Over. If you have another 2-Step Verification method already configured, you can try that method instead.

Roblox’s 2-Step Verification troubleshooting article, which carries no publication year in the version reviewed for this guide, states: “Email 2-Step Verification codes expire after 15 minutes and will no longer work if the code was already entered incorrectly for that account.” Request a fresh code rather than retrying an old one. Authenticator-app codes must also be current, so enter the code shown at the moment of sign-in. If a newly requested code still fails, contact Customer Support.
Solve browser and CAPTCHA problems
Browser-only failures are most common on the website. Roblox’s browser guidance starts with its general website troubleshooting pages. If the CAPTCHA is blocked or missing, allow the domains .arkoselabs.com and .funcaptcha.com in your browser, and check that your computer’s clock shows the correct date and time, because a drifted clock can cause verification to fail.

If these steps do not resolve it, try a different browser or device, then reset your password or contact support as appropriate. These browser steps apply to the web experience. They do not fix sign-in problems inside the Roblox app or on a console, which need their own troubleshooting.
Respond to a possibly compromised account
Treat the situation as possible account takeover if you see a banner asking you to change your password, notice logins or changes you did not make, or cannot sign in after a password you know should work. A password-change banner can mean Roblox detected suspicious activity, or that a password may have been exposed through another service.

- Remove any off-site downloads and suspicious browser extensions from the device you use to sign in.
- Run a full malware scan.
- Restart the device and scan again.
- Reset the Roblox password, using a strong password you do not use anywhere else.
- Enable 2-Step Verification.
If the password reset fails at any point, contact Customer Support.
Protect the account once you are back in
Recovery is only half the job. Keep your recovery email or phone current, since both are what the reset process depends on. Enable 2-Step Verification so a stolen password alone is not enough to sign in.

Never give anyone your password, browser cookies, 2-Step Verification codes, or backup codes. Roblox says to enter login information only on its official website or official apps. Be wary of off-site download links, surveys, and “free Robux” offers that ask for account information. Anyone who asks for those details is trying to take the account.
Quick Login for new devices
Quick Login lets you approve a new, nearby device from a device where you are already signed in. Roblox says it is currently unavailable on Xbox and may not be available to every player, so do not rely on it as your only way back in.
Enhanced Protection and hardware keys
Roblox Enhanced Protection uses passkeys and, on supported platforms, hardware security keys. Enrolling requires a passkey, a verified email, and another recovery layer such as a verified phone number or backup codes. Devices that cannot use passkeys, including Xbox, are pointed to Quick Login instead.

A FIDO2- or passkey-compatible hardware security key is an optional physical item for players who choose Enhanced Protection on a supported platform. Check that the key is compatible with your device and browser before buying one. A key does not fix a forgotten password, a missing recovery contact, a CAPTCHA problem, or a compromised computer, and it does not replace the recovery options you must keep on the account.

Under-13 users can ask a parent to verify a parental recovery email from the account settings. Roblox phone-number verification is available only in select countries, so a phone-based recovery path may not be offered where you live. A parent helping a child should confirm the recovery email they control is the one attached to the account before the child needs it.
When to contact Roblox Support
Contact Customer Support when the self-service options fail: no recovery email or phone is attached, a new verification code still fails after you request it, the password reset does not work, or you suspect someone else has control of the account. Describe the symptom, the device and browser you used, and the steps you already tried. Use only Roblox’s official website or apps to start that contact, and never send your password or codes to anyone who reaches out first.
