Roblox search may fail because of a temporary platform issue, a browser or connection problem, or a search that is returning results you did not expect. First check Roblox Status, then identify whether the search box fails, returns no results, or shows irrelevant results—and which Roblox search surface and device you are using.
First, identify what “not working” means
Roblox has different search features, including Experience Search and Marketplace search, and the factors used can vary by feature. The steps below focus on finding experiences; a Marketplace or user-search problem may behave differently.
- Search will not open or submit: The interface may be failing to load or respond.
- No results appear: Check for a service issue, then try a clear experience title or keyword.
- Results appear but seem wrong: This may reflect how Roblox ranks results rather than a broken search interface.
- Other Roblox pages or controls are also failing: That points toward a broader platform, browser, or connection problem.
Note whether the issue happens on the website, mobile app, Xbox, or another client. That distinction helps narrow down the cause.
Check whether Roblox is having a service issue
Visit Roblox Status and check the current status of Roblox services. If an incident is listed, wait for Roblox to resolve it and try again; changing browser settings is unlikely to fix a platform-side problem. The status page is live, so check it when the problem occurs rather than relying on an earlier status report.

When search works but the results look wrong
Roblox says Experience Search can use account information and activity, query relevance, experience content, quality, performance, and popularity. Different features use different factors, and Roblox does not publish their exact weights or guarantee a particular order. A result mismatch by itself therefore does not establish that search is broken. See Recommendations and Ranking on Roblox.
Try a clearer query
Search for the experience’s exact title or a distinctive keyword, then submit the query. If you are browsing for something to play rather than looking for one specific experience, Roblox’s category lists—including Popular, Top Earning, Top Rated, Featured, and Recommended—offer another route.

Use the documented mobile experience-search steps
- Open Experiences.
- Tap the search icon.
- Enter an experience title or keyword.
- Submit using Return or Search on the keyboard.
These steps are from Roblox’s mobile searching and browsing guidance. Roblox’s interface can change, so labels or placement may differ between app versions.
If the Roblox website is malfunctioning, test your browser
If search or other parts of the website will not load or respond, Roblox recommends clearing temporary internet files and cookies, restarting the computer, and disabling browser extensions. These are general website troubleshooting steps, not proof that the cache or an extension caused the search problem. Roblox’s instructions are in Website Issues.

- Clear the browser’s temporary internet files and cookies.
- Restart the computer and try Roblox again.
- Disable extensions and test the page. If that fixes it, re-enable extensions one at a time to identify which one changes the behavior.
If other Roblox features are failing too, check the connection
When the problem extends beyond search—such as slow loading or other Roblox features failing—follow Roblox’s broader website troubleshooting and connection guidance for browser support, security settings, and network checks. Roblox notes that browser add-ons, especially ad blockers, can contribute to some loading issues. This general guidance does not establish that a connection problem is the cause of a search failure.
- Use an up-to-date browser supported by Roblox and check its security settings.
- If practical, test a wired connection to help distinguish a wireless-network problem.
- Review firewall or router settings carefully; avoid broad changes unless you understand their effect on your network.
- Temporarily test with browser add-ons disabled, particularly ad blockers.
When to contact Roblox Support
If the problem persists after checking status and testing the relevant browser or connection steps, contact Roblox Support. Roblox asks users to identify their device and describe the issue. Include details that make the failure reproducible:

- What you did, in order, and what happened instead.
- When the issue began and the exact text of any error message.
- Any recent changes, such as a browser update or newly installed extension.
