What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
A Roblox experience that sits on the loading screen for minutes usually has one of five causes: a Roblox service incident or maintenance window, a slow or unstable connection, a firewall or security program blocking Roblox, a browser extension on desktop, or a problem with that particular experience. Device limits can add to the delay. The game’s title cannot tell you which one applies to you, so the fastest route is a short set of checks that rules causes out before you change any settings.
Run three scope checks first
Answer these three questions in order. Each answer narrows the problem, and none of them requires changing a setting.
- Is Roblox having a problem right now? Check Roblox’s status information. Roblox’s support article What happens when Roblox is down? states that during an active issue or maintenance, joining an experience may be delayed or unsuccessful. Its recommended response is to wait a few moments and try again.
- Does a different experience load? Launch a well-known experience you have played before. If it loads normally, the problem is probably tied to the one you are trying to open.
- Does the result change on another network? Switch from Wi-Fi to a wired connection where your device supports one, or from cellular to Wi-Fi on a phone. A change in result points toward your local network.
Read the pattern
The combination of answers usually points to one area. Use this table as a map, then follow the matching section below.
| What you observe | Most likely area | Next step |
|---|---|---|
| Every experience stalls, and Roblox reports an incident or maintenance | Roblox service issue | Wait, then retry later |
| Every experience stalls, status shows no incident, and another network works | Your local connection | Check Wi-Fi stability, try wired, review the bandwidth figure |
| Every experience stalls on every network, including after a security software change | Firewall or antivirus restriction | Confirm Roblox is allowed by the security software |
| Stalls only in a web browser on a computer | Browser extension or stored browser data | Disable ad blockers and extensions, then clear temporary files |
| Only one experience stalls | That experience | Try other experiences, then notify its creator |
| Phone stalls only on cellular data | Mobile connection | Switch to Wi-Fi |
| Loads but runs choppily after it starts | Device performance or network lag | Lower graphics settings and close heavy apps |
Connection problems
Roblox names slow service and inconsistent wireless connections as causes of connection trouble. The practical test is simple: if the same game loads quickly on another network and stalls on yours, the local connection is the likely cause.

Wired versus wireless
An unstable Wi-Fi signal is a common reason a loading screen never finishes. Where your device supports it, connect with an Ethernet cable and try again. This is a diagnostic step, not a required purchase. If a wired connection fixes the problem, the Wi-Fi link is the weak point, and you can address it with a closer access point, a different band on your router, or a router change.
Mobile: Wi-Fi instead of cellular
On a phone or tablet, Roblox recommends Wi-Fi over cellular data when the cellular connection is causing trouble. Mobile data is also more variable from moment to moment, so a game that loads on Wi-Fi but not on cellular is not a Roblox defect.
Understanding the bandwidth figure
Roblox publishes a 4–8 Mb/s minimum connection recommendation for a single-use household. The figure appears on its computer hardware and operating system requirements page and its mobile system requirements page, as checked in 2026. Roblox says larger households need more bandwidth. Treat the figure as a floor, not a guarantee: a connection that meets it can still stall, and a stall does not prove the connection is below it.

Firewall, antivirus, and router restrictions
Roblox’s General Connection Problems article says the following about firewalls:
Free tools Windows power users keep installed
One-click scans. No signup required.
“Firewall: This is very frequently a firewall problem, though it can (in very few cases) be the result of a low-bandwidth connection or an inconsistent wireless connection.”
In practice, check that Roblox is allowed through any firewall or security program on the device. If the problem began after you installed or updated security software, that change is the first suspect. Roblox’s guidance on third-party security restrictions is in its article Third-party Applications or Antivirus Software Restrictions. Do not leave a firewall turned off as a fix; the goal is to allow Roblox through it.

Port settings are for administrators
Roblox’s connection guidance lists UDP ports 49152–65535. Its Firewall and Router Issues article adds that the Roblox client selects ports dynamically. Port-level changes are therefore relevant when a network administrator, school, workplace, or internet provider restricts traffic. They are not a sensible first step for a home player, and they should be left to whoever manages the network.
Browser problems on desktop
If you play in a browser rather than the installed app, extensions can interfere with launch. Roblox says browser add-ons, especially ad blockers, can keep an experience from fully loading. Temporarily disable them, then retry. Keep the browser updated to a version Roblox supports, which the General Website Issues article covers.

When one experience is the problem
Roblox states that a bad or overly complex experience may fail to run properly and asks players to notify the creator. If other experiences load and only one stalls, this is the most likely explanation. Note the experience’s name and the time of the failure, then report it to its creator through the experience’s page. This is a practical inference from Roblox’s stated causes rather than a definitive test, so confirm it by trying one or two more experiences before you conclude it.

Device limits and performance
Roblox separates network lag from graphics and system lag. Lowering graphics settings can help choppy visuals, and closing other resource-heavy apps can ease system strain, as Roblox explains in How to Reduce Lag and Speed Up Play. These steps address poor performance, not necessarily a loading screen that never finishes, so use them if the game loads but runs poorly.
Check that your device is supported
Roblox’s desktop requirements list Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit), macOS 10.13 or later, and Chrome OS 53 or later with Google Play enabled. Linux is not supported. Hardware guidance includes DirectX 10 feature support on Windows and at least 1 GB of memory on Windows 10 and 11. Requirements change over time, so check the current page for your platform before assuming your hardware qualifies.
Reset steps if nothing above helps
Work through these in order, and stop once the game loads:

What to send Roblox Support
If the problem persists, contact Roblox Support with these details, which make the report far easier to act on:
- Your Roblox username
- The exact error message, if one appears
- Device model and operating system version
- Steps that reproduce the stall, including which experience you opened
- Any recent device, network, or security software changes
The support articles describe likely causes and general steps. They cannot diagnose your specific account or device, which is why these details matter.
