Before replacing your whole lineup in Jujutsu Kaisen: Phantom Parade, check what is actually causing the loss: a poor enemy-trait matchup, a damage dealer without useful support, too little protection for a difficult fight, unsuitable Recollection Bits, or reserve characters in the wrong order. The right fix depends on the stage and your roster; no single team is best for every encounter.
First, identify how the team is losing
Different failure patterns point to different changes. If the battle ends before you deal enough damage, look first at enemy traits and damage support. If your team is wiped out, focus on protection. If a key character falls before contributing, reconsider who starts in the frontline and who waits in reserve. Also check the stage’s displayed conditions for a mechanic that may be undermining your plan.
- Not enough damage: Check the enemy’s trait, then whether your attacker receives relevant buffs or benefits from enemy debuffs.
- Team defeated too soon: Consider a defender or support that reduces incoming damage or lowers the enemy’s damage.
- Key unit falls early: Review the formation and reserve order, as well as whether that character needs more protection.
- A plan seems ineffective: Check the stage conditions and the characters’ actual skills before changing the lineup.
Check the enemy trait before swapping characters
Game8’s team-building guide reports that attacks against an enemy weakness deal approximately 1.5 times damage, while attacks using a resisted trait deal approximately 0.75 times damage. These are guide-reported approximate multipliers, not developer-published statistics. Check the current encounter’s displayed traits before choosing an attacker; a matchup that looks suitable on paper may not fit the specific stage.
When you have a compatible damage dealer, try that change before rebuilding every slot. A resistance matchup can make a team feel underpowered even when its characters are otherwise well suited to the fight. Game8’s team-building guide covers weaknesses and example formations; its character recommendations may change as the game and roster change.

Build around what your attacker’s skills do
Role labels such as attack, defense, enhancement, disruption, weakening, and recovery are useful clues, but they do not fully describe a character’s kit. Game8 notes that characters can serve multiple functions. Inspect the relevant skills and ask what kind of damage your main attacker deals—taijutsu or jujutsu—and whether the rest of the team actually supports that damage plan.
- Does a teammate’s buff help the attacker you intend to use?
- Can another character weaken the enemy or increase the damage it takes?
- Does the stage limit buffs or otherwise change which plan is effective?
Game8’s examples pair attackers with buffs and enemy damage-taken debuffs, but a support choice only helps if its effect fits the attacker and encounter. In a stage with buff immunity or buff cuts, copying a buff-dependent team may not work; the guide instead points to using multiple debuff effects in that situation. Read the stage conditions before copying a template. Game8’s guide provides examples, while GameWith’s character-combination guide illustrates a specific domain-effect sequence. Treat that sequence as a mechanics-specific example, not a universal rule.

Add protection when the team is being overwhelmed
If characters are falling before the team can finish the fight, especially in a boss or other high-difficulty battle, try a defender or a support that mitigates damage or lowers the enemy’s damage. Game8 recommends these kinds of defensive tools for difficult fights, including situations where the team meets the recommended level but still gets wiped out.
Protection is not automatically the right addition to every quick story clear. If survival is already reliable and the team simply cannot finish fast enough, focus instead on the trait matchup and on whether your attacker’s skills are being supported.

Review Recollection Bits and reserve slots
Match each Recollection Bit to its character
Recollection Bits are equippable enhancements: the US App Store listing says they can be equipped to enhance characters’ abilities. Check whether each equipped Bit supports the assigned character’s job in your plan. The listing does not establish a universal best Bit setup, so choose with the character and fight in mind rather than expecting one combination to fix every team. The US App Store listing describes this feature; product and version details can differ by region.
Choose who starts in reserve
Game8 describes the fifth slot, labeled “sub,” entering when an active character reaches zero HP, followed by the sixth slot, labeled “support,” after another active character falls. Use that order deliberately: if a valuable but fragile character is more useful after the opening frontline has taken losses, consider placing them in reserve rather than starting them up front. Game8’s guide describes the reserve-entry behavior.
Make the next attempt a targeted change
- Read the encounter: Check the enemy traits and any displayed fight conditions.
- Name the failure: Decide whether the problem is low damage, being defeated too early, losing a key character, or a stage mechanic.
- Check your main attacker: Inspect the character’s skills and damage type, then see whether teammates’ buffs or debuffs support that plan.
- Change the relevant slot: Use a compatible attacker for a trait problem, support for a damage-plan problem, or defensive help for a survival problem.
- Check setup and order: Review Recollection Bits and decide which characters should occupy the fifth and sixth slots.
- Retest before rebuilding: Change the part tied to the failure first. Team examples are starting points, not guarantees for every stage or roster.
For advice tailored to a particular loss, the useful details are the stage or boss, its listed traits and mechanics, your four active characters and two reserves, each character’s level, grade and key skills, and their equipped Recollection Bits.
