Talismans are passive boosts, so a missing or hard-to-notice effect does not by itself prove the item has stopped working. First confirm the talisman is equipped in its slot and check what its listed bonus changes. If the effect disappeared after a death and respawn, one player reported restoring it by removing and re-equipping the talisman; that is an anecdotal workaround, not a confirmed fix.
What talismans do—and what they do not do
Minecraft describes talismans as a gear category that provides passive bonuses and lets players customize a build. Developer Laura de Llorens likewise called them “passive boosts” in an Xbox Wire interview. A passive bonus may not produce an obvious moment-to-moment effect: check the talisman’s description to understand what it changes before deciding it has failed.
Talismans are different from artifacts, which have active effects. A Minecraft Feedback post about artifacts failing after rapid use and consuming souls concerns a separate reported behavior; it does not establish the cause of a talisman problem or show that the same remedy applies.
Check the talisman and its effect
- Open your equipment and confirm the item is in a talisman slot, not merely in your inventory.
- Read the item’s description and identify the passive bonus it is meant to provide. Look for that specific change rather than expecting an activation animation or a dramatic effect at all times.
- Consider when you first noticed the effect was missing. The directly relevant player report describes the issue appearing after death and respawn.
If the effect stopped after a respawn
Try removing the talisman from its slot and equipping it again, then check whether the described effect returns. One player reported that this restored the effect after respawning. The available evidence is a single player report, so treat this as a reversible troubleshooting step—not a guaranteed solution or an officially confirmed fix.

If re-equipping does not help
Check the current Minecraft Feedback knowledge base for the Minecraft Dungeons II changelog, and use its bug-report submission resource if you can reproduce the problem. Include what talisman you used, what its description says, when the effect seemed to stop, and whether removing and re-equipping changed anything. The official material cited here does not diagnose a talisman-specific respawn bug or confirm a fix.
Keep artifact issues separate
If an artifact consumes souls but does not activate after rapid successive use, that resembles the separate artifact report on Minecraft Feedback—not the reported talisman issue. Because talismans provide passive bonuses, an artifact’s activation failure is not evidence that a talisman has the same fault.
