If Roblox stops partway through loading, first check Roblox Status, then try a different experience. That quickly separates a platform incident or one broken experience from a connection, device, browser, or security-software problem. Roblox also notes that a large experience can take longer to download on a slow connection, so a delay does not always mean the game is frozen.
What does “not loading fully” look like?
Roblox may stall before you enter an experience, load slowly, or open to a scene that appears empty. These symptoms can have different causes: a service incident may affect many experiences, while a problem in one experience may leave other parts of Roblox working normally.
If you are already inside an experience and the map looks empty, Roblox says the avatar appearing indicates that the map has loaded. The creator may simply not have built anything in that area. If the avatar does not appear or the experience remains stuck, continue with the checks below.
Find out whether the problem is Roblox, one experience, or your setup
- Several experiences or Roblox features are affected: Check Roblox Status. During an incident, joining may be delayed or unsuccessful. Wait and retry after the reported issue clears.
- Only one experience fails: The experience itself may be at fault. Roblox says a broken script or too many objects can prevent an experience from running properly. Note its name and report the problem to its creator.
- Several experiences fail on one device: Check that device’s connection, compatibility, app or browser, and security settings.
- The same device works on another network: That points toward the original network or its connection settings. If practical, test a computer over Ethernet to compare it with Wi-Fi.
- The same account works on another device: The first device’s software, requirements, or local network connection becomes a more likely place to investigate.
Check the connection before changing settings
Slow or inconsistent internet can delay loading, especially for a large experience. Roblox’s published guidance gives a 4–8 Mb/s connection as a baseline: its desktop guidance describes this range for a single-use household, while its mobile guidance calls 4 Mb/s a minimum. Roblox says larger households may need more bandwidth. These figures are guidance, not a guarantee that every experience will load smoothly.

- On mobile, try a stable Wi-Fi connection if cellular service is unreliable.
- On a computer, temporarily try a wired connection if you have compatible Ethernet ports and a cable. If that works while Wi-Fi does not, investigate the wireless connection rather than treating Ethernet as a universal fix.
- If connection problems persist across devices and apps, Roblox advises contacting your internet provider.
Rule out browser extensions and security software
Roblox identifies firewall restrictions as a frequent connection problem and says browser add-ons such as ad blockers can stop an experience from fully loading. Security software can also restrict an app’s internet access.
- If you use Roblox in a browser, update to a supported browser and try again with ad-blocking extensions temporarily disabled for the test.
- Check whether your firewall or security software permits Roblox to connect. Change only the relevant permission; do not leave security protection disabled.
- If available, compare the browser with the Roblox app, or compare the app with a browser. A difference can help identify whether the issue is tied to one way of launching Roblox.
- Restore your usual extension and security settings after testing.
Confirm your device meets Roblox’s requirements
Compatibility depends on the device and operating system. Roblox’s current mobile requirements list iOS or iPadOS 14 or later, and Android 8.0 or later with OpenGL ES 3.0 support. Roblox cautions that meeting Android’s minimum requirements does not guarantee optimal performance on every Android device. Desktop requirements vary by operating system, so check Roblox’s current requirements page for your platform.

Update Roblox and your operating system where updates are supported, then retry. Requirements can change; use the current official pages rather than assuming an older device is still supported.
Refresh the app or device
Try these low-risk actions after checking the service, experience, and connection. The exact steps vary by platform; do not apply iOS-specific instructions to Android or desktop.

- Close Roblox and open it again.
- Restart the device, then retry the experience.
- Install available Roblox and operating-system updates that your device supports.
- If the issue continues, use Roblox’s platform-specific troubleshooting guidance. Roblox’s published iOS sequence includes force-closing and reopening the app, rebooting, reinstalling, clearing Roblox cookies, and checking the device’s date and time.
What to include when reporting the problem
For an issue affecting one experience, contact its creator and give the experience name and what happens when you try to join. For a broader account, app, or connection problem, contact Roblox Support with details that help distinguish the cause:
