Respawn temporarily disabled Kings Canyon on March 14, 2022, while it worked to address an in-game error issue in Apex Legends. The map was reported re-enabled the next day after the issue was resolved. Respawn did not identify the specific cause of the errors, and that 2022 restoration does not establish whether Kings Canyon is in the game’s current rotation.
Why was Kings Canyon disabled?
Respawn said players were encountering an in-game error and that it was working on a fix. It temporarily removed Kings Canyon from play while that work continued. The announcement did not specify what caused the errors, so claims that a particular location, exploit, or map feature was responsible are not confirmed by Respawn’s statement. MP1st’s March 14, 2022 report reproduced Respawn’s update.

Respawn’s quoted message was: “We are temporarily disabling Kings Canyon while we continue to work on a fix for this issue. Thank you again for your patience here, legends.” MP1st attributed the statement to Respawn’s official account.
When did Kings Canyon come back?
A report on March 15, 2022 said Respawn had resolved the issue and re-enabled Kings Canyon. That was the reported return date after the temporary removal. Dexerto’s March 15 report reproduced the restoration update.

Is Kings Canyon available in Apex Legends now?
The 2022 fix only explains when the map returned after that incident; it does not confirm its present availability. Apex Legends map rotations change over time. EA’s 2026 announcement documents a later rotation change but does not establish Kings Canyon’s exact live status. Check the in-game map rotation or a current official update for availability.
