That means the beta was not a test of those improvements—and poor performance in that build did not, by itself, establish how the later game would run on a particular PC.
Did the second beta include performance fixes?
No. In its January 8, 2025 announcement on Steam, Capcom said: “Please note that adjustments including performance, weapon changes, Hitstop, quality of life improvements and more will not be present or reflected in the second Open Beta Test build.” Players therefore should not treat that beta as a demonstration of the performance work planned for a later version.

The beta was a limited pre-release trial, while the full game was a later build. Results from one beta session could also vary with a player’s hardware and software environment; they are not a universal prediction for every PC, or for the console versions.
Why did some players have trouble running it?
The available official statements establish that players reported unexpected performance issues in the earlier beta and that Capcom directed PC players concerned about performance or readiness to a separate benchmark. They do not identify one cause that explains every report. Capcom’s October 31, 2024 troubleshooting thread cautioned that behavior could differ across hardware and software environments and limited official support for PCs outside minimum requirements and certain configurations.

Hunters can look forward to tracking down monsters with an array of new moves, special abilities, equipment, and more. The action also now flows seamlessly from cutscenes to gameplay, resulting in a new level of immersion.
There is no verified statistic in these official sources for how many players struggled with the second beta, and no attributable figure for their frame rates. Reports of poor performance should not be turned into a percentage or used to diagnose an individual computer without its specifications and settings.
What did Capcom recommend to PC players?
On February 12, 2025, Capcom pointed players who had encountered unexpected issues in the earlier beta—or who wanted to check whether their PC was ready—to the separate Monster Hunter Wilds Benchmark. That was Capcom’s guidance at the time; the benchmark is a PC-readiness tool, not the second beta and not a guarantee of identical performance in the released game. What was the beta testing, and when did the game launch?
The second open beta was a pre-release trial, not a final performance showcase. Capcom announced Monster Hunter Wilds for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, with a release date of February 28, 2025, in its September 25, 2024 announcement. The beta’s stated omissions matter when interpreting its performance: its build did not reflect the adjustments Capcom said were coming.
