The official release date was April 22, 2025, according to Xbox’s product listing and Bethesda Game Studios’ launch announcement.
What did the alleged Xbox Support messages say?
TechRadar reported that X users had shared videos and screenshots purporting to show direct messages from Xbox Support. One alleged message said the remaster was “set to release on April 21, 2025.” Another reportedly claimed that the Game Pass version would include only the base game, with Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine reserved for a Deluxe Edition. TechRadar’s report warned that the screenshots could be fabricated; it did not authenticate them as Xbox statements.
When did Oblivion Remastered actually release?
The official date was April 22, 2025—not April 21. Xbox’s product listing gives April 22, and Bethesda Game Studios’ launch announcement says the game was available on Xbox Series X|S, Game Pass, PlayStation 5, and PC.
What was included in the released editions?
The final Xbox listings contradict the alleged claim that the Game Pass version contained only the base game. Xbox’s Standard Edition description includes the base game, both story expansions, and additional DLC. The Deluxe Edition includes those items as well as digital extras.

Game Pass catalogs and available subscription tiers can change by market and over time, so check the current catalog in your region rather than treating a past message or listing as a guarantee of present access.
Which platforms and developers were confirmed?
The Xbox listing names Bethesda Softworks as publisher and Bethesda Game Studios and Virtuos as developers. It identifies Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Xbox Cloud Gaming, and marks the game as included with Game Pass. Bethesda’s launch announcement also confirms PlayStation 5 availability. These are listed platforms, not independent performance assessments.

How Bethesda described the remaster
Bethesda Game Studios said it wanted to remaster rather than remake the original, preserving the game as players remembered it while presenting it with current technology.
