What was the 100 Thieves RuneScape merchandise issue?
The controversy concerned artwork for a 100 Thieves collaboration connected to Jagex and RuneScape. Insider Gaming reproduces the organization’s apology as saying, “The design clearly had AI in it, and we missed it.” It also quotes 100 Thieves as saying AI had no place in its apparel design and that Jagex would not have approved AI use in the collaboration.
Sportskeeda reports that a designer used AI during a hurried final edit and that a sample went into production for a photoshoot. That account of the production process comes from the outlet; it is not independently confirmed here.
Does the ad mean 100 Thieves approved of AI gambling promotion?
No such approval is established by the cited coverage. The apology concerned 100 Thieves’ apparel-design policy and a RuneScape collaboration. Nadeshot’s reported Roobet post was a separate promotion. The timing prompted people to draw a contrast, but the reports do not show that 100 Thieves commissioned or approved the casino ad.
