In the app, tracks can expire after an extended period without an internet connection. For Nintendo’s listed Android and iOS support codes, reconnect, open the app and leave it running for around 30 minutes. The steps differ by operating system.
Check whether you’re using the app or the web version
Nintendo Music offline listening requires music to be downloaded in advance in the mobile app. The web version does not support offline playback. Nintendo describes app downloads for compatible smartphones and tablets, while its Canada product page describes web access on PC and laptop; availability varies by country. A paid Nintendo Switch Online membership is required to use Nintendo Music. Nintendo says the app is free to download and offers a seven-day trial to users new to the service. Details and eligibility may vary by region; see Nintendo Music FAQ.
If downloaded tracks won’t play offline
Nintendo says downloaded tracks expire if you have been offline for an extended period, but its support article does not specify how long that period is. If the app shows a support code, use the matching recovery steps below. Nintendo’s support-code article was updated September 2, 2026.

If the problem started after an Android update
Nintendo’s support-code article specifically warns that after updating the Android app to version 1.7, downloaded tracks may not play offline even if you connect regularly. Try the same online app session described above. Nintendo’s note names version 1.7; it should not be read as confirmation of a universal problem on every current Android version.

Only certain tracks fail
While online, play each affected track, then disconnect and try that track again. Nintendo lists this as a remedy for individual tracks that remain unavailable offline.
If My Music shows “Could not load data”
This is a library-loading error, not the same as an expired offline download. Connect to the internet and tap Retry under My Music. Nintendo says the refresh may take 10 minutes or more. If it still does not load, use the contact option in Nintendo’s My Music support article.

If you can’t reconnect
Check Nintendo’s network status page for maintenance or disruptions affecting Nintendo Account or Nintendo Switch online services. A service disruption can prevent online refresh steps from completing, but Nintendo does not say it causes offline tracks to expire.
