The beer bottles in Grand Theft Auto VI Trailer 2 are compelling because several small details land together: visible bubbles, condensation, translucent glass and reflections. They make an ordinary object feel worth a closer look. That is a reading of the released footage, not confirmation of how Rockstar rendered the effect or how it will appear in gameplay.
Why are people talking about the GTA 6 beer bubbles?
In its coverage of Trailer 2, PC Gamer pointed to bubbles and condensation on the bottles, as well as reflections of a TV and outside light. Those are visible cues in the trailer, and their combination is what makes the bottles so easy to fixate on.

Rockstar’s official media page lists Trailer 2, which Take-Two and Rockstar announced on May 6, 2025. Rockstar’s Trailer 2 media listing and the announcement establish which release the conversation concerns.
What makes the bottles feel convincing?
Liquid that appears to be moving
Visible bubbles suggest carbonation inside the bottle. Even a small number of bubbles gives the liquid a sense of activity that a flat, uniformly colored fill would not have.

Moisture that changes the surface
Condensation adds tiny irregularities to the glass. It breaks up otherwise smooth highlights and helps the bottle read as cold and recently handled, rather than as a perfectly clean prop.
Glass that responds to its surroundings
Glass is difficult to read because it is partly transparent and partly reflective. The visible reflections—along with the bottle’s translucency—give the eye information about both the object and the light around it. Together with the bubbles and moisture, those cues make a familiar item feel specific to its scene.

This is visual analysis of what appears in the trailer, not a technical explanation from Rockstar. No cited developer statement or technical document explains how the bottle effect was made.
Does the trailer prove the effect will appear in gameplay?
No. Rockstar’s August 2026 announcement for a later extended look says that footage was captured entirely from in-game footage on PlayStation 5. That statement applies to the extended look; it does not establish that every shot in Trailer 2, or the beer-bottle effect in particular, is ordinary gameplay footage. Nor does it prove the effect runs as a real-time simulation, persists during play, or will look unchanged in the released game.

What does the online reaction tell us?
Kotaku documented jokes and comments about how good the beer looks, showing that the detail became a topic of fan discussion. That is evidence of a reported reaction, not a representative measure of how many viewers noticed or cared about the bottles. There is no cited poll or audience statistic that quantifies it.
