Pokémon’s overseas official YouTube channel has a ten-hour livestream of Mega Starmie running through a psychedelic-looking landscape to upbeat music. A Mega Starmie ex Pokémon Trading Card Game card appears in the stream, too. The timing made the video look like an April Fools’ gag, though that interpretation has not been confirmed by Pokémon.
What happens in the ten-hour Pokémon video?
In a report published April 2, 2026, Japanese outlet Inside Games described a livestream on Pokémon’s overseas official YouTube channel. Mega Starmie runs continuously through a colorful, psychedelic-looking environment while upbeat music plays. The stream is reported to run for ten hours.

It is less a conventional trailer than an extended, deliberately strange loop built around the Pokémon’s distinctive star shape and movement. The report also notes a Mega Starmie ex trading card appearing during the stream.

The stream was posted April 2, 2026, which coincided with April Fools’ Day in overseas time zones, according to Inside Games. That timing makes an April Fools’ gag a plausible explanation for the odd presentation. The report frames it as a likelihood, however, not as confirmed intent from The Pokémon Company.

No official explanation for the video’s purpose is established in the available reporting. It is safest to describe the stream as apparently timed for April Fools’ Day rather than to state that Pokémon confirmed it was a prank.
What does the Mega Starmie ex card have to do with it?
A Mega Starmie ex Pokémon TCG card is shown in the stream, creating an obvious connection between the video and the card. Its appearance suggests a product tie-in, but the reporting does not establish whether the stream was part of a broader promotional campaign or explain the card’s role beyond showing it on screen.
