A card can fail when its billing details do not match the issuer’s records, a bank or Roblox fraud check blocks the transaction, or a prepaid card has not been registered. Check the card and billing information before trying another payment method. If you see a pending amount after a decline, it may be a temporary hold rather than a completed Robux purchase.
Check the billing details first
Roblox says the billing information entered at checkout must match the information registered with the financial institution. Compare the name and billing address on the payment form with the issuer’s records, including spelling and address details. A mismatch can cause a decline. Roblox’s card-decline guidance identifies an incorrect billing address as a possible cause.
A card also needs a billing address registered with its financial institution. If your address has changed, confirm with the issuer which address is currently on file rather than guessing. Roblox explains how billing information is checked, and its billing information guidance describes the information used for payments.
Why a card can still be declined when its details are correct
A bank may block a purchase as a fraud-prevention measure, or Roblox may block it through its own fraud checks. Roblox also says some cards may not be accepted even when the entered information is correct. Its public guidance does not specify the decision rules or offer a way to override a block. If the information is accurate, ask the card issuer whether it declined or restricted the transaction; otherwise, try another accepted payment method. If you’re paying with a prepaid card
Roblox lists two common reasons prepaid cards fail: the card has not been registered with its provider, or the billing details entered do not match the details registered for that card. Register it and verify the address before making a purchase. Roblox’s prepaid-card troubleshooting page specifically warns against retrying a failed prepaid-card purchase: repeated attempts can leave funds on hold for up to 10 days.
What a pending amount after a decline may mean
A declined purchase can still show temporarily on your card account. Roblox says the amount may be a temporary hold placed by the financial institution while the transaction resolves, or a small verification charge from Xsolla. Roblox says these amounts are not sent to Roblox and generally return within 1–10 business days. That is an estimate, not a guaranteed date for your bank to update its records. When Xsolla asks you to verify a card
For Xsolla verification, Roblox says a small transaction is typically $0.20–$0.90 USD. The numeric amount serves as the verification code and is valid for three hours. If more than one verification amount appears, use the latest one. Roblox says the amount is returned within 1–10 working days whether or not the purchase is completed. Roblox’s Xsolla verification instructions describe this process.
If a charge is posted rather than pending, remains after the stated return period, or you cannot tell whether the purchase completed, contact the issuer and the payment provider that handled it. Avoid repeatedly attempting the same failing transaction, especially with a prepaid card.

Try a payment method available for your purchase route
Roblox’s accepted methods depend on where you buy Robux. Each purchase must be paid in full with one payment method; Roblox recommends trying a different method if a card continues to fail. Its card-decline guidance lists alternatives, and its payment-method page describes options by platform.

A Roblox gift card is an official browser alternative, but it is not a guaranteed workaround for account, region, or fraud restrictions. Check that the method is available for your purchase route. If Roblox displays prices in USD because native pricing is not supported in your country, the bank or card company may convert the currency and may charge a conversion fee. If you don’t recognize the charge
Only use a payment account with its owner’s permission. If a charge was unauthorized, Roblox advises contacting support before disputing it. The support channel depends on the statement descriptor and payment route:
- If the statement shows “Xsolla*Roblox,” contact Xsolla support.
- If it shows “Roblox” without the Xsolla prefix, contact Roblox Support.
- For purchases billed through Apple, Microsoft/Xbox, PlayStation, Meta Quest, Samsung, or Amazon, contact the provider that processed the purchase.
Roblox’s unauthorized-charge instructions identify the relevant support channels. The issuer can also clarify whether a card transaction is pending, posted, or declined.
