Crashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?

Xbox says games you hide from your profile still count toward your total; if the number itself differs between views or seems wrong, compare the profile and game records, then contact Xbox Support with the details. The available official guidance does not establish a guaranteed refresh, wait, or sync fix for an individual discrepancy.
First determine what changed: the list or the number
Xbox distinguishes between what appears on your profile and the Gamerscore total. Its April 8, 2026 announcement says that hiding games affects profile appearance, but hidden games still count toward total Gamerscore and activity reporting. See Xbox’s announcement about achievement updates.
- The game list or profile presentation changed, but the total did not: A hidden game may explain why the history looks different.
- The Gamerscore number itself changed or conflicts across views: Hiding a game does not explain that discrepancy. Check the account and game-level record before contacting support.
What can—and cannot—be established about a changed total
Hidden games affect visibility, not the total
Xbox explicitly says hidden games remain included in Gamerscore. That feature can account for a different-looking profile, but it is not an explanation for a genuinely changed total.
Historical enforcement is not a diagnosis
In a 2008 post, Xbox described resetting accounts it identified as serious Gamerscore and achievement-tampering violators. It said affected accounts could earn future achievements fairly but could not regain previously obtained achievements and Gamerscore. That is historical context, not evidence that an unexplained discrepancy today means an account was sanctioned, nor does it establish how often resets happen now. Read the 2008 Gamerscore Correction post.

Save syncing and achievements are different records
Xbox’s September 2025 announcement about improved save-sync status in the Xbox PC app covers game saves, including progress, device, and timestamp details. It does not identify save syncing as a cause of achievement-total changes. A save’s status and an achievement record are separate things; the announcement is not a verified remedy for a Gamerscore discrepancy. See Xbox’s Xbox PC app save-sync announcement.
Mythic Achievements recognize completion; they are not a Gamerscore adjustment
On September 29, 2026, Xbox announced Mythic Achievements for Xbox Insiders. The recognition is for completing a game’s original achievements; later DLC or update achievements are not required. Xbox described progress display and profile recognition, not an adjustment to Gamerscore. At announcement, the feature was in Insider preview, not established as universally available. The announcement also said eligible prior completions, including Xbox 360 titles, could receive the status. See Xbox’s Mythic Achievements announcement.

Checks to make when the number looks wrong
- Confirm the account. Make sure the profile you are viewing is the intended Xbox account.
- Compare the records. Check the profile’s overall Gamerscore against the achievement details for the affected game. Note whether the discrepancy is only in one view or also appears in the game-level record.
- Record the details. Note the affected game, platform, approximate achievement-unlock time, and the numbers shown. Screenshots of the overall total and game-level record can help explain the mismatch.
- Use Xbox Support’s achievement troubleshooting or contact route. Provide the details and screenshots so support can assess the specific account record. The current support page’s exact steps and any promised timing or remedy could not be verified here, so do not assume a particular wait period or refresh action will fix it. Start with Xbox Support’s achievement troubleshooting page.
Do not delete local saves or use third-party achievement tools as a supposed fix: no cited source supports either action for correcting an Xbox achievement record.
