If your team keeps losing in Rumble Heroes: Adventure RPG, first check which activity you are playing and whether your team’s gear and progression fit that mode. Then review your heroes, Training Ground, and relic setup, and compare damage using the Scarecrow in the same environment. A higher DPS reading can help diagnose damage, but it does not guarantee a clear.
Start by identifying where the team loses
Separate the activity you are struggling with—such as Rumble Island or an Abyss mode—before changing your team. Equipment rules can differ by mode: PLAYHARD’s August 29, 2024 update notes describe Abyss equipment as mode-specific, and its December 22, 2025 update notes discuss seasonal Abyss equipment. Do not assume a build prepared for Abyss will work on Rumble Island.
For a boss or event stage, also consider what is actually stopping the run. If heroes die before the fight ends, survivability may be the issue; if the team survives but makes little progress, damage or progression may need attention. The official notes cited here do not establish a universal counter or best lineup for every encounter, so use the stage’s current in-game instructions and test changes in the activity where you are stuck.
Check the progression that applies to that mode
A losing run is not necessarily a sign that you need to swap heroes. PLAYHARD update notes describe several progression layers, including hero or mercenary levels, Training Ground upgrades, equipment, relics, and runes. Check the relevant layers together rather than focusing on a single character.

- Heroes or mercenaries: Review the development of the characters you are actually taking into the activity.
- Training Ground: Check whether its upgrades have kept pace with your team. An April 18, 2023 update documented an expansion of Troop and Training Ground level caps to 65 at that time; that historical cap does not establish today’s cap.
- Equipment: Confirm that the gear is valid for the active mode, especially when moving between an island activity and seasonal Abyss content.
- Runes and relics: Verify the setup you have equipped rather than assuming a previous configuration still suits the current activity.
Review relic fragments and boosters
Relics are configurable, not a single fixed bonus. PLAYHARD’s April 18, 2023 update notes explain that relic skill effects vary with the composition of relic fragments and that Relic Boosters enhance basic damage. If you are experimenting, change one part of the relic setup at a time and retest; changing several things at once makes it difficult to tell what helped.
Compare DPS in the same environment
The Scarecrow Training Ground can help you check whether a change improves damage. According to PLAYHARD’s August 29, 2024 update notes, its DPS calculation depends on the environment entered, with separate calculations for Rumble Island and Abyss Rift. Compare attempts in the same mode and under similar conditions; readings from different environments are not a like-for-like test.

- Enter the Scarecrow in the environment relevant to the activity you are troubleshooting.
- Record the DPS reading for your current setup.
- Change one element—such as a relic fragment, booster, or applicable equipment—and repeat under the same conditions.
- Take the more promising setup back into the actual stage and check whether it improves the result there.
Scarecrow DPS measures damage in its test environment. It does not show on its own whether a lineup can survive a boss’s attacks, handle stage mechanics, or clear a specific encounter.

The official update notes available here are not a current, comprehensive tier list or a tested guide to one best team. Treat lineup changes as experiments: keep the activity and conditions consistent, adjust one variable at a time, and judge the result in the stage you want to clear. If DPS rises but the team still loses, return to the encounter and investigate whether survival or a specific mechanic—not raw damage—is the limiting factor.
