wifiinfo_vb.dll is not a standard Windows file. It is a third-party application DLL, and the strongest known association is Easy WiFi Radar, an older wireless-network utility from Makayama Interactive/Makayama Media.
The safest fix is to identify the application requesting wifiinfo_vb.dll, then repair or reinstall that application from its original installer. Do not download a random copy and place it in System32.

Fix 1: Identify the application that needs wifiinfo_vb.dll
Time needed: 5–10 minutes
Before changing Windows files, find out which program is producing the error. The filename alone does not prove that Easy WiFi Radar is installed on your computer.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteCheck the error window for the program name. Also note when it appears:

- Immediately after signing in to Windows
- When launching a shortcut
- When opening a particular older application
- During an installer or updater
- After antivirus software removed a file
Next, search the installed applications list:
- Press Windows key + I.
- Select Apps.
- Select Installed apps in Windows 11, or Apps & features in Windows 10.
- Search for Easy WiFi Radar or another program installed around the time the error began.
- Select the program and check whether Repair, Modify, or Uninstall is available.
You can also inspect the shortcut:
- Right-click the shortcut that triggers the message.
- Select Properties.
- On the Shortcut tab, read the Target field.
- Select Open File Location if available.
- Look for
wifiinfo_vb.dllbeside the program’s executable.
The known Easy WiFi Radar installation path is:
C:Program FilesMakayama InteractiveEasy WiFi Radar
If the DLL or the executable is in that folder, Easy WiFi Radar is the likely requesting application. If the error appears after the program has already been uninstalled, continue to the startup-entry steps below rather than copying the DLL into a Windows folder.
Fix 2: Repair or reinstall the original application
Time needed: 10–20 minutes
For Windows 11 and Windows 10 programs, try the built-in repair option first:
- Open Settings.
- Select Apps.
- Open Installed apps.
- Find the application that displays the error.
- Select the three-dot menu beside it.
- Select Advanced options.
- Select Repair.
If Windows 10 does not show that option:
- Open Control Panel.
- Select Programs.
- Select Programs and Features.
- Right-click the affected program.
- Select Repair or Change.
- Follow the installer prompts.
Restart Windows and launch the program again. A successful repair should restore the DLL to the application’s own directory and allow the program to start without a new missing-file message.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →If repair is unavailable or fails, reinstall the application:
- Back up any settings or data the program uses.
- Uninstall the affected application from Settings > Apps or Control Panel > Programs and Features.
- Restart Windows.
- Run the original installer as an administrator.
- Right-click the installer and select Run as administrator.
- Install the program to its normal location.
- Restart Windows and test it again.
Easy WiFi Radar is old and may no longer be actively supported. If you cannot obtain a trustworthy original installer, do not substitute a DLL from a download repository. Removing the obsolete program and using Windows’ built-in Wi-Fi controls may be safer than forcing an unknown binary to load.
Because this DLL is reported as a 32-bit file, a 32-bit application normally keeps it in that application’s installation directory, even on 64-bit Windows. Do not move it between System32, SysWOW64, and the application folder as a trial-and-error fix.
Fix 3: Check whether Windows Security quarantined the file
Time needed: 5–15 minutes
Antivirus software can remove or quarantine an old application file. Check the detection record before reinstalling or restoring anything.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →- Open Windows Security from the Start menu.
- Select Virus & threat protection.
- Select Protection history.
- Expand recent detections.
- Look for an item referring to the affected application or
wifiinfo_vb.dll. - Inspect the reported path, threat name, and source.
Restore the file only when all of these are true:
- The file was in the expected application folder.
- The application came from a trustworthy installer.
- You are confident the detection is a false positive.
- A current security scan shows no other suspicious files.
If those conditions are not clear, leave the file quarantined. Uninstall the application, scan the computer, and reinstall it from a trustworthy original source instead. Microsoft’s Protection History guidance explains the distinction between restoring a quarantined item and allowing it on the device.
After restoring a known-good file, launch the application. If it disappears again, antivirus protection is still blocking it, the installer is repackaged, or the file is genuinely unsafe. Do not repeatedly restore it without investigating the path and detection.
Fix 4: Check dependencies and application compatibility
Time needed: 10–30 minutes
A message saying that the specified module could not be found does not always mean wifiinfo_vb.dll itself is absent. Windows can show that message when a dependent DLL cannot load.
First, confirm that the file is present in the application directory. If it is present but the program still fails:
- Right-click the application executable.
- Select Properties.
- Open the Compatibility tab.
- Select Run this program in compatibility mode for.
- Try the Windows version recommended by the application’s documentation, if one is provided.
- Select Apply, then OK.
- Launch the program again.
You can also right-click the executable and choose Run as administrator for a test. If that works, the application may need write access to its old installation folder, but running permanently as administrator is not always the best solution. Reinstalling it to a suitable user-writable location may be safer.
Do not assume that _VB means the file is a Microsoft Visual Basic runtime. There is no verified evidence that wifiinfo_vb.dll is part of Visual C++, DirectX, .NET, or a Microsoft redistributable. Install a runtime only when the application’s own installer or documentation specifically requests it.
Check Windows Features only when the application requires them
Time needed: 5–10 minutes
Some older programs require an optional Windows component, but enabling features at random will not normally restore this DLL.
- Press Windows key + R.
- Type
optionalfeatures. - Press Enter.
- Review the application’s requirements before enabling anything.
- Select the required feature, if clearly identified.
- Select OK and restart Windows if prompted.
Do not enable legacy components merely because the filename contains _VB.
Fix 5: Repair Windows components only for broader system problems
Time needed: 15–30 minutes
DISM and SFC repair protected Windows components. They are not a normal way to retrieve a third-party application DLL.

Use them when Windows itself is showing other corruption symptoms, such as broken system features, damaged protected files, or repeated Windows component errors.
- Open Start.
- Type Command Prompt.
- Right-click Command Prompt.
- Select Run as administrator.
- Run:
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
- Wait for it to finish.
- Then run:
sfc /scannow
- Restart Windows.
- Test the affected application again.
If SFC reports that it repaired files but the application still reports wifiinfo_vb.dll as missing, that result is expected: SFC generally does not restore files belonging to old third-party programs. Return to the application repair or reinstall step.
Repeatedly running SFC and DISM without knowing what changed can waste time. Outbyte PC Repair can scan for system issues and show what needs attention; its full version performs the repair, but reinstalling the application remains the definitive fix when that program owns the DLL.

Fix 6: Update relevant Wi-Fi drivers only when the application needs them
Time needed: 10–20 minutes
wifiinfo_vb.dll is not itself a Wi-Fi driver, but an old wireless utility may fail because its supporting hardware or driver environment has changed.
Check Device Manager:
- Right-click the Start button.
- Select Device Manager.
- Expand Network adapters.
- Right-click the wireless adapter.
- Select Update driver.
- Select Search automatically for drivers.
- Restart Windows if a driver is installed.
If the adapter has a warning icon:
- Right-click it.
- Select Properties.
- Read the message under Device status.
- Check the Driver tab for the provider, date, and version.
- Obtain a compatible driver from the computer or adapter manufacturer when Windows cannot find one.
Do not use Device Manager to replace wifiinfo_vb.dll. It manages hardware drivers, not application DLLs. Outbyte Driver Updater can scan for outdated drivers and show which versions need attention; the full version performs the driver installation, while the original application reinstall is still the correct fix for this DLL.
Do not use regsvr32 as a generic DLL repair
regsvr32 works with DLLs that provide registration entry points such as DllRegisterServer. There is no evidence that wifiinfo_vb.dll is an ActiveX control, COM server, or self-registering library.
Do not run this as a default repair:
regsvr32 wifiinfo_vb.dll
It can produce an entry-point error and distract from the real issue. Use regsvr32 only if the original application’s documentation explicitly instructs you to register this particular file.
If the error still appears after reinstalling
Time needed: 10–30 minutes
Check these possibilities in order:
- The installer is incomplete or damaged. Obtain a fresh copy from the original publisher or a trustworthy archive and compare the result with the application’s documented requirements.
- Antivirus removes the file again. Review Protection History immediately after installation.
- A dependency is missing. Check the application’s own logs and Windows Event Viewer.
- The application is incompatible with the current Windows release. Try its documented compatibility settings or replace it.
- The disk or archive is damaged. Test another storage location and check the drive for errors.
- The application is gone but its startup entry remains. Open Task Manager, select Startup apps, disable the obsolete entry, and uninstall the remaining program cleanly.
- A suitable restore point exists. Use System Restore only if the application worked previously and the restore point predates the failure.
To inspect related errors, right-click Start, select Event Viewer, open Windows Logs > Application, and review errors recorded at the time of the failed launch. The event may identify a dependent module even when the popup names only wifiinfo_vb.dll.
What is known about wifiinfo_vb.dll
Public file records describe one 32-bit build at approximately 188 KB, but repository metadata is inconsistent and is not an authoritative publisher release. The company and description are not reliably identified.
The clearest public association is Easy WiFi Radar 1.0.3 and its application directory under Makayama Interactive. That association should be treated as the best lead, not proof that every copy of the DLL belongs to that program.
No evidence establishes that the file ships with Windows or belongs to a Microsoft runtime. No Microsoft download package for it is known. Unexpected copies should be judged by their location, digital signature, source, and antivirus results rather than by filename alone.

FAQ
Is wifiinfo_vb.dll a Windows system file?
No evidence shows that it ships with Windows. Treat it as an application file and keep it with the program that installed it.
Which program uses wifiinfo_vb.dll?
The strongest known association is Easy WiFi Radar 1.0.3, an old utility associated with Makayama Interactive/Makayama Media. Confirm the requesting program on your own computer before reinstalling anything.
Should I copy it to System32?
No. A 32-bit application normally loads its private DLL from its own installation directory. Copying it to System32 or SysWOW64 can place the wrong file in a system location and usually does not repair the application.
Is wifiinfo_vb.dll a Visual Basic runtime?
The _VB suffix does not prove that. There is no verified evidence that this file is a Microsoft Visual Basic, Visual C++, DirectX, or .NET runtime component.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
Could the DLL be malware?
A filename cannot establish that. Check its path, signature, source, and antivirus detections. Do not restore an unexpected quarantined copy simply because a download page offers a file with the same name.
What if the application has already been removed?
Disable its leftover startup entry in Task Manager > Startup apps, then uninstall any remaining program components. If the program is obsolete, replacing it with Windows’ built-in Wi-Fi controls may be the safer long-term solution.
