As of October 8, 2026, Xbox has not announced that DayZ is leaving Game Pass. The October 7, 2026 Xbox Wire post listing titles that leave on October 15 does not include DayZ. That is a current snapshot, not a guarantee that DayZ will stay in the catalog indefinitely.
What Xbox has announced
Xbox Wire announced DayZ for Game Pass on April 8, 2026. The announcement covers the PC version and lists four plan names: Game Pass Ultimate, Game Pass Premium, Game Pass Essential, and PC Game Pass. Because the addition was announced for PC, it should not be read as confirming the same availability on every console, region, or plan.

The most recent departure notice is Xbox Wire’s October 7, 2026 update. Its section headed “Leaving October 15” names nine titles, and DayZ is not one of them. A missing title from a leaving-soon list means no removal was announced in that post. It does not mean the game is locked in.
Other signals and what they can and cannot tell you
- Xbox catalog search. A Microsoft Store search filtered to Game Pass titles showed DayZ as included. The catalog is dynamic and did not expose a stable item-level record, so treat this as supporting evidence rather than a definitive live check.
- Third-party tracker. A tracker last updated October 5, 2026 lists no announced leaving dates for Game Pass. It follows official US announcements rather than live catalog availability, so it corroborates the official post but does not replace it.
- October 2025 showcase coverage. Xbox Wire’s showcase recap discussed DayZ Badlands and Xbox platform support. It does not set a Game Pass departure date. Expansion news and subscription-removal notices are separate announcements.
How to check your own access
Entitlement depends on your platform, subscription tier, and region, so check your own account rather than relying on a national announcement.

- Open the Xbox app on PC, or the Microsoft Store on Windows, and search for DayZ.
- Confirm the store page shows a Game Pass badge or an included-with-Game Pass label for your region.
- If you use the Game Pass filter in the Microsoft Store catalog, check that DayZ appears in the results for your account.
- Check the Xbox Wire departure posts when they are published. A removal would be announced with a dated list, as the October 15 post was.
If the store page shows DayZ as included but the install or play option is unavailable, confirm that you are signed in with the Microsoft account linked to your Game Pass subscription, then try again after restarting the app. If the problem persists, contact Xbox Support rather than assuming the title has been removed.

Removals are normally announced ahead of the departure date, so the practical signal is a dated leaving list rather than a change you notice in the catalog. Until a list names DayZ, the official record shows no announced removal.
