Staryu is found at night. A guide also reports a Swift TM in the zone, while published Alpha Pokémon details conflict, so check the in-game encounter before relying on a specific Alpha roster or level.
How do I unlock Wild Zone 2?
Wild Zones become accessible after Main Mission 5, according to VGC. Wild Zone 2 is off Vernal Avenue: head about halfway toward Café Woof, then take the eastern path alongside the water to reach circular Vert Plaza. Nintendo Life describes the area as available early, once you can explore more freely. Its recommended level is 6; that is a guide recommendation, not a confirmed entry requirement.

What Pokémon can I catch in Wild Zone 2?
VGC and PowerPyx agree on six standard encounters. The locations below are reported habitat clues, not guarantees that a Pokémon will appear on every visit.
- Kakuna: Check the trees.
- Patrat: Look on rocks and the raised central platform; VGC also notes the rear gate.
- Binacle: Search near the water and central bridge.
- Staryu: Look in the water at night; it is the standard roster’s nighttime-only Pokémon.
- Magikarp: Search the water. VGC reports daytime appearances and says Magikarp can jump onto the bridge as you pass; Nintendo Life says it can be found in the water all day.
- Budew: Check near entrances or gates. VGC warns that it may flee when approached.

How to catch Pokémon that flee
The official Pokémon Legends: Z-A gameplay page advises hiding out of sight or approaching from behind when a Pokémon might flee. It also says battling to lower a Pokémon’s HP can make it easier to catch. Wild Zones can be explored by day or night, and Pokémon can be caught by throwing Poké Balls; daytime team preparation matters because the Z-A Royale takes place at night.

Where is the Swift TM?
Pocket Tactics reports that the Swift TM is in the lower section of Wild Zone 2, between trees and bushes. That placement is reported by one guide source here, rather than confirmed by an official source or a second independent guide. The available information does not establish a complete list of ordinary pickups, so Swift should not be treated as the zone’s only item of any kind.

Published guide accounts disagree about Wild Zone 2’s Alpha roster, levels, and unlock conditions. Nintendo Life reports two encounters after completing Emma’s requests: a level 30 Alpha Magikarp on the southeastern bank and a level 32 Alpha Staryu in the same area at night. It describes reaching the location by running around the perimeter and using Rock Smash. Pocket Tactics lists Alpha Patrat, Alpha Staryu, and Alpha Magikarp without levels or the same unlock detail. PowerPyx lists an Alpha Magikarp at level 19.
These reports do not support a definitive Alpha count, level, or unlock step. The Pokémon Company describes Alpha Pokémon generally as larger, with glowing red eyes, and especially powerful and difficult to catch; those are general mechanics, not confirmation of this zone’s roster. Check the encounter in your game before relying on a particular guide’s Alpha details.
