Yes. Fable is confirmed for PlayStation 5, with an official release date of February 23, 2027. But no published details establish how it will run on standard PS5 versus PS5 Pro: the game’s official FAQ mentions 30 fps and 60 fps options without saying which PlayStation models get them or what resolution and visual settings they use.
Is Fable coming to PS5?
Yes. The official Fable FAQ lists PlayStation 5 among the game’s launch platforms and gives February 23, 2027 as its release date. The game has not launched yet, so there are no retail-version PS5 or PS5 Pro performance results to report.

What frame rate can PS5 players expect?
The FAQ’s technical section says: “You will have the option to play at both 30 and 60 fps. We will have more detail to share on this as we approach launch.” It does not assign either option to PS5, PS5 Pro, or another platform. It also does not say whether both modes will be available on each PlayStation console.

A TechRadar report from September 16, 2026, covering a Gamescom Q&A, says Playground confirmed a 60 fps performance mode for Xbox Series X. That confirmation applies to Xbox Series X; it is not evidence that PS5 or PS5 Pro will have the same mode.
PS5 versus PS5 Pro: what is and is not confirmed
The official information available does not establish any performance difference between the two PlayStation models. In particular, it does not confirm a PS5 Pro patch or dedicated mode, nor provide model-specific settings for any of these areas:

- Frame rate: The FAQ lists 30 fps and 60 fps options generally, but does not identify which PlayStation model supports each or describe frame-rate stability.
- Resolution and upscaling: No PS5 or PS5 Pro target resolution or upscaling method is specified.
- Image quality and ray tracing: The available official details do not describe model-specific visual settings or ray-tracing features.
Until PlayStation-specific settings are announced, claims that PS5 Pro will run Fable at 60 fps, render at a higher resolution, use PSSR, or otherwise outperform standard PS5 would be speculation.
Why Xbox performance details do not answer the PlayStation question
Performance modes depend on how a game is configured for each platform. The Xbox Series X 60 fps report cannot establish PS5 settings, and it says nothing about a PS5 Pro enhancement. Playground associate game director Craig Littler told TechRadar that the studio wants the game to “look great wherever you’re playing it” and to be “appropriate for the platform”; that describes a broad approach, not a technical specification for either PlayStation console.

The Xbox Wire Gamescom update provides Xbox-side context, but it does not fill in the missing PS5 and PS5 Pro settings.

If performance is central to your decision, look for a platform-specific update from Playground or the official Fable FAQ closer to launch. Useful details would include which PlayStation models get 30 fps and 60 fps modes, their resolution targets and image-quality trade-offs, and whether PS5 Pro has a dedicated enhancement. Those values have not been published in the sources cited here.
