Rockstar’s current store listing describes the product as a “Physical (Code-in-Box) Version Available,” specifies that it includes a download code and no disc, and lists November 19 as the release date. See the Rockstar Store listing.
Why the delay rumor circulated
A February 3, 2026 GamesRadar report covered a rumor that physical copies could be held back to reduce the risk of leaks. In response to that rumor, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick told GamesRadar: “That’s not the plan.” That reported comment addressed the rumor; it did not announce a disc edition. GamesRadar’s report.

The current format announcement answers the practical question more clearly: a boxed product is planned before launch for preloading, but it is a box containing a code rather than a game disc. The November 7, 2025 date announcement set November 19, 2026 as the launch date and said the additional development time would help the team finish the game to the level of polish players expect. The November 12 date does not establish that players can start the game then. Take-Two describes that availability as a way to preload ahead of the November 19 launch, not as early access.
