Rainbow Six Siege is still receiving official support, but Ubisoft has not promised that it will continue for another decade. Siege X was a major update to the existing game, not a replacement, and Ubisoft’s live roadmap shows Year 11 content. That demonstrates ongoing support today—not a guarantee through 2036.
Has Ubisoft promised another 10 years of Rainbow Six Siege?
No ten-year continuation promise appears in the official material reviewed. The clearest current evidence is Ubisoft’s Rainbow Six Siege roadmap, last updated September 23, 2026. It identifies Year 11 and Operation Split Fire as the latest release and lists further planned and released work.
Ubisoft describes Siege as a live game, while also warning that “target dates are subject to change.” The roadmap therefore supports saying that Siege remains actively supported as of its update date. It cannot establish how long that support will last, and it should not be read as a commitment through 2036.
What Siege X is—and what it is not
Siege X launched June 10, 2025, as a free update for existing owners. Ubisoft called it “the next evolution of Rainbow Six Siege,” rather than announcing a separate sequel. Existing players kept their unlocked content and progression at launch, according to Ubisoft’s launch announcement.

Changes to the core game
Ubisoft’s Year 10 reveal described modernized maps, destructible environmental objects, updated rappel movement, revamped audio, a communication wheel, interface and onboarding improvements, and a new mode called Dual Front. These are substantial changes to the existing Siege experience, not evidence of a new standalone game.
Dual Front
Dual Front is a permanent 6v6 mode, described by Ubisoft for current-generation consoles and PC. It mixes attackers and defenders and uses its own map and match mechanics. It is distinct from Siege’s traditional round-based core modes.

Is Siege X free to play?
Ubisoft’s June 2025 launch announcement described Free Access as including Quick Match, Unranked, and Dual Front, with a selection of Operators. It said Ranked, Siege Cup, additional Operators, and cosmetics required payment to unlock. Those are the launch terms; they do not establish that the current access rules are unchanged, so check the game or platform store for present-day details.
Ubisoft’s launch materials listed PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. The stated platform availability for Dual Front was narrower: current-generation consoles and PC. The cited material does not establish comparative performance across platforms.

- Siege X marks the biggest evolution in its history, and deepens the game’s tactical core.
What the anniversary player figure does—and does not—say
Ubisoft cited “100 million players” in connection with Siege’s tenth-anniversary celebration in 2025, in its anniversary announcement. This is a publisher-attributed figure; the announcement does not establish that it means 100 million unique active players. A large anniversary figure can indicate broad reach, but it does not guarantee future player numbers or continued support.
