Wisdom of Sea and Sky was scheduled to release in Pokémon TCG Pocket on July 29, 2025, at 11:00 p.m. PDT. In UTC, that is 6:00 a.m. on July 30, 2025, which is why official materials give both dates.
The announced launch time
The Pokémon Company International’s July 24, 2025 announcement set the expansion’s release for July 29, 2025, at 11:00 p.m. PDT. The announcement’s wording was: “the latest expansion for Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket releasing on July 29, 2025, at 11:00 p.m. PDT!” The statement is unattributed to any named individual.

Why some sources say July 30
A separate official English-language trailer from Pokémon Asia, published July 24, 2025, said the two new booster packs would be added to the lineup on Wednesday, July 30. Both dates describe the same launch. The difference comes from time zones: the announced moment falls on July 29 in the Pacific time zone but on July 30 in much of the rest of the world.

What the expansion added
The announcement presents Wisdom of Sea and Sky as a Johto-themed expansion for the iOS and Android card game. It highlights Lugia and Ho-Oh, with the booster packs Wisdom of Sea and Sky: Ho-Oh and Wisdom of Sea and Sky: Lugia. It also features Johto starter Pokémon Chikorita, Cyndaquil, and Totodile, and states that the expansion includes over 200 new cards. That card count is the figure Pokémon stated at launch, not an independent tally of the final pool.
Launch-day trading update
The same announcement scheduled a trading-system update for July 29, 2025, at 11:00 p.m. PDT, the same time as the expansion. If you were checking why trading features changed on launch night, that update was announced alongside the expansion.

Is the expansion still available?
The release is a past event as of October 2026. The official sources establish the announced schedule but do not confirm whether the Wisdom of Sea and Sky packs are still in the current app lineup, which can change as Pokémon TCG Pocket adds and rotates content. To check, open the app’s booster pack or expansion list in the current build rather than relying on the 2025 announcement.
For reference, the original announcement is titled “Bring Deep Blue Power with Wisdom of Sea and Sky” and was published by The Pokémon Company International on July 24, 2025. The Pokémon Asia English trailer is listed on the Pokémon Asia ENG channel with the same July 24, 2025 publication date.
