WordFinder’s guide dated March 23, 2026, GameDaily’s guide published ahead of that puzzle date, and Xfire’s archive result all identify SERIF as the answer to #1738. The agreement of those dated sources supports the answer, though it is not a direct confirmation from the official New York Times archive.
A tabletop Wordle option
For group play away from the daily digital puzzle, Hasbro makes Wordle: The Party Game (model F8348), an adaptation for two to four players ages 14 and up. Its official product page describes classic, fast, timed, and team variations, with physical boards, shields, dry-erase markers, tiles, and a game guide. It is a separate tabletop game, not a way to access the daily puzzle or its archive.
