Why the repeated O matters
GOOEY uses O twice. Wordle’s color feedback tells you whether a guessed letter is in the answer and whether it is in the right position, but duplicate letters can make that feedback less intuitive. A gray result for one guessed O position does not by itself prove that O is absent: interpret the tile pattern across the whole guess, then test another plausible position if the other feedback supports it.
How to approach a Wordle puzzle
Wordle gives you six guesses to find a five-letter answer. Green tiles mark letters in the correct position, yellow tiles mark letters present in the answer but in another position, and gray tiles mark letters not represented in the answer, subject to how repeated letters are accounted for.

- Start with information-rich letters. Choose a valid word using several common letters rather than repeating letters unnecessarily in the opening guess.
- Apply every tile result. Keep green letters fixed, retain yellow letters while moving them to new positions, and use gray results to eliminate letters while accounting for duplicates.
- Build candidates from all the clues. A possible answer must satisfy the confirmed positions, include the known letters in workable positions, and avoid letters the feedback rules out.
- Use later guesses to narrow the list. Test unresolved letters or placements, then choose a candidate that fits the full pattern. No opening word or method guarantees a solve.
