The official World of Warcraft: Forever gameplay trailer introduces Blizzard’s plan for a new, permanent home in Azeroth alongside modern and Classic WoW. The game is presented as a level 1–60 journey through the original continents, with new regions, the playable Skyborne race, and ongoing updates. Blizzard lists a global launch for November 4, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. PST; those dates and features are publisher announcements, not independent confirmation of what will ship.
What is World of Warcraft: Forever?
Blizzard describes Forever as a new version of World of Warcraft set after Warcraft III Reforged: Forsaken Kingdom and before Molten Core. It is intended to sit alongside the modern game and Classic rather than replace either one. Blizzard frames it as a continuing game, with stories and updates beyond launch. Blizzard’s BlizzCon 2026 announcement is the source for that setting and positioning.

What does the trailer promise for the game?
A journey through levels 1–60
Blizzard presents Forever as a full leveling experience, not an endgame-only update. The plan is to return to the original continents while adding new and reimagined areas, quests, and locations throughout progression from level 1 to 60. Its product page advertises over 1,000 new quests; that is Blizzard’s figure, not an independently verified count. The official Forever product page lists the headline features.

New and reimagined places in Azeroth
Blizzard’s panel recap names areas across Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor, including Mount Hyjal, Shen’dralas, Riverglades, and Zephras Isle. The recap also says there will be no flying mounts or level scaling. Those choices fit the stated emphasis on traversing and experiencing the world, but the source does not provide independent gameplay evaluation. The panel recap outlines the areas and design principles.
The Skyborne and Zephras Isle
The Skyborne are a new playable race, according to Blizzard, with Zephras Isle as their home and starting experience. The product page also lists new race-and-class combinations, including Forsaken Paladin and Dwarf Shaman.

What design direction is Blizzard describing?
Blizzard says four pillars guide Forever: approachability and familiarity, making the world the main character, valuing the journey before the destination, and nurturing social play. The official panel recap summarizes the aims as: “Four core pillars guide the experience: approachable and familiar, the world as the main character, the journey before the destination, and protecting and nurturing the social experiences that make Azeroth feel alive.” The recap attributes the statement to Blizzard, not to an individual speaker.
