There is no single best quest reward for every Season of Discovery character. The right pick depends on your class and role, the slot you need, your faction, and what you already have. This level-50 shortlist highlights notable Phase 3 quest rewards and explains how to decide which are worth pursuing for your character.
What counts as a Phase 3 quest reward?
This is a historical guide to notable rewards for Season of Discovery characters at level 50, not a current build-by-build ranking. It includes ordinary quests, selected dungeon quests and class-specific Sunken Temple quest rewards. Blizzard’s Phase 3 announcement highlighted new class quest rewards and rewards within the raid dungeon. The list below is a shortlist, not a claim that every item is best for every specialization.
The original guide by Ease was updated April 2, 2024. Blizzard made Phase 3 live on April 4, 2024, and its February 27 developer update anticipated the level-cap increase to 50. These dates give the recommendations their context; they do not establish that quest access, item behavior or game tuning remains unchanged today.
Notable quest rewards by type
Unique rewards
- Carrot on a Stick — a trinket.
- Nat Pagle’s Extreme Angler FC-5000 — a fishing pole.
Weapons
- Linken’s Sword of Mastery
- Tidecrest Blade
- Beastslayer
- Staff of Lore
Trinkets and accessories
- Rune of the Guard Captain
- Luffa
- Mark of the Chosen
- Several ring and necklace rewards, whose value depends on the character’s other equipped items and available alternatives.
Armor
- Blazewind Breastplate
- Prismscale Hauberk
- Warforged Chestplate
- Other armor options across cloth, leather, mail and plate.
Armor type matters: an item is not a practical upgrade if your character cannot wear it. The cited guide groups rewards by slot and type, but does not establish a complete current stat ranking for every class and build.

Class-specific rewards
- Hunter: Devilsaur Eye and Devilsaur Tooth.
- Mage: Glacial Spike.
- Paladin: Lightforged Blade.
- Rogue: Ebon Mask.
- Warrior: Diamond Flask.
These examples identify class-quest options, not universal best-in-slot choices. Compare the stats and effects with your role and gear before committing to a quest path.
How to choose which rewards are worth getting
- Start with your class and role. Check that a weapon, armor type or class-specific reward suits how you play; a name on a shortlist alone does not make an item an upgrade.
- Identify the slot you need. Compare the reward with the item you would replace, including accessories such as rings and trinkets.
- Check faction alternatives. Some recommendations may have a faction-specific option or a different route. Confirm the option available to your character rather than assuming the same reward path for both factions.
- Confirm access and group needs. Many quests in the guide are normally associated with characters around levels 55 or 60, and some involve dungeons. The guide cautions that a full group may be needed. Verify present quest and dungeon availability in your version of the game before setting out.
- Weigh certainty against alternatives. A guaranteed quest reward can be appealing when you want a predictable item rather than waiting for a boss drop. It is only a useful upgrade if it improves on what you already have.
Quest access and Phase 3 context
The list includes only selected dungeon rewards, rather than every reward in every dungeon. It also included an explicit assumption about dungeon availability, so treat access claims as version-dependent and check them in-game. Sunken Temple quest rewards were added as Phase 3 went live, according to the guide’s update notes.

Blizzard’s February 27, 2024 developer update said, “The yet-to-be-announced level 50 raid will be a 20 player experience.” That was the announced plan at the time, not a property of any quest reward or evidence that the same raid conditions apply now.
