What was the pre-match case for each team?
The previews framed the matchup as T1’s early lane control against Solary’s ability to create pressure through its bot lane and less structured fights. That was a qualitative argument, not proof of what decided the final.

How did the finalists reach the series?
Sheep Esports reported that Solary had lost only one game to Movistar KOI Fénix across its tournament run up to that September 30 preview. It also pointed to draft choices including Wukong, Lulu and Kha’Zix. T1 Academy reached the final after its 3–1 semifinal win over Galions; the same report characterized its path by strong laning and early leads, while noting occasional mid-game turnovers earlier in the event.

Sheep Esports also noted that Kim “Painter” Eun-hoo and Kim “Eclipse” Min-jun had debuted in the LCK Challengers League that year and reached both that league’s final and the WSCI final. Those details add context to T1 Academy’s run, but do not independently explain the result.

In the narrow sense that T1 Academy was the slight pre-match favorite in RFT.GG’s analysis and won the series, the pick matched the outcome. That does not demonstrate that the preview was accurate in a broader or repeatable forecasting sense, or that the quoted odds offered value. No named statistical forecasting model or verified probability-calibration study was identified for this match.

RFT.GG attributed the pre-match line “We’re gonna stomp the final” to Solary player Zicssi in a post-semifinal interview with OTP. It was a boast, not an analytical forecast—and the five-game result did not bear out the phrasing.
What about match betting markets?
Polymarket’s event page described a best-of-five final initially scheduled for October 2, 2026 at 5:00 a.m. ET and listed market types including game count, first blood and total kills. Those are examples of markets, not recommendations or evidence that such markets forecast outcomes accurately. A page continuing to label the event “upcoming” does not change the completed result shown by the official schedule. No current wager is available on this concluded match.
