Scar is a story character associated with the Fractsidus in Wuthering Waves. Kuro Games’ official announcements reviewed through Version 3.4 do not confirm him as a playable Resonator or give him a release date. That means his playable status is unconfirmed—not that he will never be playable.
Who is Scar in Wuthering Waves?
A fan-maintained Wuthering Waves character reference identifies Scar as an Overseer of the Fractsidus and says he first appears as an NPC in Version 1.0’s Main Quest, “Ominous Star,” Chapter I Act III. The faction and first-appearance details come from that secondary reference; they are not a Scar biography or playable-character announcement from Kuro Games.
Will Scar be playable?
No official playable-character announcement for Scar appears in the Kuro Games notices reviewed through Version 3.4, and those notices provide no Scar banner or release date. The distinction matters: announced Resonators are identified directly in character and banner notices, while a character’s presence in the story does not itself confirm that they will become playable.
For comparison, the Version 3.2 materials named Sigrika as a 5-Star Resonator and described her availability through a Featured Resonator Convene; the patch notes also said she would become permanently available after the update. Kuro Games’ Version 3.3 preview named Hiyuki and Denia as 5-Star Resonator debuts. A Version 3.4 banner notice named Cartethyia and gave her Featured Resonator Convene window as June 18 to July 9, 2026, server time. That historical banner has ended.
These examples show how the reviewed official announcements identify playable characters. They establish only what had been announced in those notices: they cannot rule out a later announcement about Scar.
What the story updates say about the Fractsidus
Scar’s association with the Fractsidus gives his character a place in an ongoing story thread, but the available updates do not use that connection to promise his return or playability. The Version 3.2 patch notes introduce the afterstory “Rabbit Reflected in Shades,” which follows the main quest and continues an investigation into the Dark Side anomaly and the Fractsidus.

In a Version 3.3 preview dated April 17, 2026, Kuro Games described Hiyuki’s confrontation with the Fractsidus, a conflict involving the group and Aleph-1, and further exploration of whether the Fractsidus have deeper plans. The preview discusses the story and Hiyuki and Denia’s debuts; it does not announce Scar as a new Resonator or make a Scar-specific statement about his future. A continuing faction storyline is context, not confirmation of a particular character’s next appearance.

How to judge future claims about Scar
- Look for a Kuro Games announcement. A named Resonator debut or Featured Resonator Convene notice is evidence of an official playable release announcement.
- Separate story appearances from availability. Being an NPC, belonging to an important faction, or being relevant to a continuing plot does not by itself establish that a character will be playable.
- Treat predictions as speculation. The official notices reviewed do not confirm Scar’s future either way, so claims that he is definitely coming—or will never come—go beyond that evidence.
- Check the date and version. Banner windows expire, and new announcements can change what is known. The Version 3.4 Cartethyia window, for example, was a dated historical event, not current availability.
