Yes, a legitimate three-month Game Pass promotion exists—but it is not a universal giveaway. Acer advertises three months of PC Game Pass with qualifying Acer, Predator, and Nitro Windows 11 PCs. You must meet the device and account requirements, redeem within 30 days of activation, provide a payment method, and cancel recurring billing if you do not want a paid renewal.
What the “free” three months actually means
The promotional subscription can carry no subscription charge during the three-month term, but it is a bundled benefit rather than a free standalone product. A qualifying PC must be purchased, a valid payment method is required, and the subscription continues automatically at the regular monthly price plus applicable tax unless you cancel it. The exact post-promotion price is shown for your account during redemption.
Acer’s promotion is for PC Game Pass, not automatically Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. PC Game Pass is the PC-only plan. Xbox describes it as including more than 300 PC games, day-one releases, EA Play, and selected in-game benefits; the catalog and benefits vary by region and change over time. Games are licensed for access, not permanently owned, so access ends when the subscription expires or a title leaves the library. See the current plan details at Xbox Game Pass.
Who is eligible?
- You need a qualifying Acer, Predator, or Nitro Windows 11 PC. The Acer brand alone does not guarantee eligibility; Acer’s public page does not list every qualifying model.
- You must claim the offer within 30 days of device activation.
- Acer describes eligibility as limited to new and eligible returning members.
- A valid payment method is required.
- Availability and account rules vary by country, promotion, and Microsoft account. Existing subscribers may be rejected or shown different terms.
Verify the exact offer on the specific computer rather than assuming it applies because the machine is an Acer. Microsoft also says promotional offers can be restricted by region, limited to new subscribers, or unavailable to some former subscribers.

How to redeem the Acer promotion
- Activate the eligible Acer, Predator, or Nitro Windows 11 PC.
- Within 30 days, open the Xbox app on that PC.
- Sign in with the Microsoft account that should own the subscription.
- Follow the on-screen promotional instructions.
- Before accepting, confirm that the plan says PC Game Pass, the promotional duration is three months, and the displayed renewal date and post-promotion price are acceptable.
- After redemption, open Microsoft account Services and subscriptions and record the end or renewal date.
Acer’s published instructions are to open the Xbox app, sign in, and follow its prompts. The redemption screen—not a third-party listing—controls the terms attached to your account.
How to prevent an unexpected charge
Turn off recurring billing immediately after a successful redemption if you do not intend to continue. Use the Microsoft account Services and subscriptions page or the subscription controls shown in Xbox settings. Then verify that recurring billing is off and note the account’s displayed expiration or renewal information. Do not assume that a calendar reminder is enough, and do not assume cancellation preserves access until the end unless your account explicitly says so.

If the offer does not appear
Check these causes in order:
- Windows is activated and updated, and the Xbox app is current.
- The Xbox app is signed into the intended Microsoft account.
- The device was activated less than 30 days ago.
- The exact model and country qualify for the promotion.
- The account has not already used a relevant Game Pass trial or promotion.
- The entitlement has not already been applied under Microsoft account subscriptions.
If it is still missing, keep the purchase receipt and device details, then contact Acer or Xbox/Microsoft support. A missing offer can result from an unsupported model, an expired or used entitlement, regional rules, or an account mismatch. Do not use unofficial code generators, account-sharing services, or unauthorized key sellers.
What current subscribers should expect
There is no universal stacking rule. Acer refers to “new and eligible returning members,” while Microsoft says offers may be unavailable to existing or former subscribers. The promotion may not extend your current expiry date, convert your tier, or work on the account you expected. Check the redemption screen before accepting rather than assuming it will stack.

Does it work on an Xbox console?
Because the Acer benefit is advertised as PC Game Pass, do not treat it as a console entitlement or as Ultimate. PC Game Pass is intended for Windows PC use. Console downloads, console multiplayer, cloud access, and other Ultimate features require the plan shown in your account to explicitly identify them; Xbox lists PC Game Pass and Ultimate as separate plans.
Should you buy a PC just for the subscription?
Usually, no. The computer’s processor, graphics hardware, memory, storage, display, warranty, return policy, and price should make sense without the promotion. Three months of access is a secondary benefit, not a reason to overpay for a gaming laptop. Someone who already needs an eligible Windows gaming PC can treat the offer as useful added value; someone who only wants Game Pass should compare a direct subscription at Xbox.com instead.

Another current option for eligible students
Microsoft’s separate College Offer is not the same promotion. Verified U.S. college students who buy a qualifying new Windows PC can receive one year of Microsoft 365 Premium, one year of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, and an Xbox Design Lab Wireless Controller. The purchase offer runs from April 15, 2026, through August 31, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time, while supplies last; redemption ends September 30, 2026. The Ultimate portion is limited to new Xbox Game Pass subscribers. See the Microsoft College Offer terms. This is not a general free-subscription offer.
Bottom line
The Acer promotion is genuine when it appears for an eligible device and account: three months of PC Game Pass, claimed through the Xbox app within 30 days of activation. It is not free for every Xbox user, it is not automatically Ultimate, and it requires a payment method with automatic renewal. Confirm the plan and renewal date, then disable recurring billing if you only want the promotional period.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can every Xbox user get three free months of Game Pass?
No. The verifiable three-month promotion is tied primarily to qualifying Acer, Predator, or Nitro Windows 11 PCs and eligible accounts. Availability also varies by country.
Is the Acer offer Xbox Game Pass Ultimate?
Not by default. Acer advertises three months of PC Game Pass. Accept Ultimate only if your own redemption screen explicitly identifies that plan.
Will I definitely get a refund if Microsoft charges me after the promotion?
No guarantee can be made. Check the renewal date and recurring-billing setting, then use Microsoft’s current subscription support and refund process; eligibility depends on the account and circumstances.
