The Xbox Wire announcements reviewed do document a substantial set of titles, returns and plan changes, but they do not establish an exhaustive inventory or annual total. This guide groups those documented examples by announcement month; a month here does not necessarily mean the game became available that month.
What counts as a Game Pass addition?
“Added” can describe several different changes. Xbox Wire announcements distinguish titles entering the library for the first time from games returning after a departure, games becoming available on another Game Pass plan, and access through EA Play or cloud gaming. An announcement may also list a game as coming soon rather than playable that day.

The timeline below includes named games from the official Xbox Wire posts covered here, including returns and plan expansions where the source describes them. It excludes departures, perks and DLC. It is a guide to documented examples, not a claim that every 2025 addition is listed. The announcements can be edited, and availability may vary by territory or change after publication.
Documented additions and changes by announcement month
The dates in this table refer to the relevant Xbox Wire announcement or announcement wave, not necessarily each game’s arrival date. Unless a specific status is noted, the summary does not establish an individual title’s exact availability date, plan or platform.

| January |
The January 7 Xbox Wire post described Road 96 as returning to the Game Pass library. The January 21 post called Lonely Mountain: Snow Riders “Available Today” and identified it as a day-one release. January’s announcements also named Lightyear Frontier, My Time at Sandrock, Robin Hood – Sherwood Builders, Rolling Hills, Flock, Eternal Strands, Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap, Shady Part of Me, Sniper Elite: Resistance and Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector. The posts also covered EA Sports UFC 5 via EA Play and Diablo on PC. Several titles were described as newly available with Game Pass Standard, but the announcement’s individual dates and plan details should be checked title by title. The January 21 post also previewed Far Cry New Dawn for February 4; that is a February arrival, not a January one. |
| February–March |
The February 4 post listed Far Cry New Dawn among that wave’s additions. The March 18 post covered multiple plans and named Tunic, Batman: Arkham Knight and Monster Sanctuary in its Game Pass Core section. Other March-wave titles and their eligibility need to be read from the announcement rather than inferred from this short list. Rank #2

| April |
The April 15 post said Grand Theft Auto V returned to Game Pass that day. It also identified Neon White as newly available with Game Pass Standard, a different kind of change from a library return. SpongeBob SquarePants: The Patrick Star Game was among the other named games. The first April-wave post is not represented in the coverage summarized here. |
| May |
May announcements named Dredge, DOOM: The Dark Ages, Revenge of the Savage Planet, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, Monster Train 2, Creatures of Ava, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, Tales of Kenzera: Zau, The Division 2, To a T, Metaphor: ReFantazio, Spray Paint Simulator and Crypt Custodian. The final edited May 21 post removed Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II from the article and removed SteamWorld Dig 2 from its Xbox Cloud Gaming list. That cloud-list correction should not be read as proof that SteamWorld Dig 2 left the Game Pass library. | June–July |
The June and July posts included Baldur’s Gate and Baldur’s Gate II: Enhanced Editions, EA Sports FC 25, The Alters, FBC: Firebreak, Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, Lost in Random: The Eternal Die, Little Nightmares II, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4, Minami Lane, Ultimate Chicken Horse, RoboCop: Rogue City, Wheel World, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers and Farming Simulator 25. High On Life was identified as a return. Grounded 2 was listed as a Game Preview release. Dates, platforms and plan eligibility differed between titles. |
| August–September |
August’s post included Blacksmith Master in Game Preview. The September 2 post named I Am Your Beast, Nine Sols, Hollow Knight: Silksong and Cataclismo, among other updates. Its wording distinguishes “Available Today” from “Coming Soon,” so a scheduled date in that post should not be treated as confirmation that a game was already playable. A September 16 announcement is another source relevant to a full audit. Rank #4

| October–December |
The October 8 post said Xbox had surprise-added games the previous week across cloud, console and PC, with handheld availability also mentioned. It named scheduled releases including Supermarket Simulator and PC availability for Baldur’s Gate and Baldur’s Gate II: Enhanced Editions. November had two announcement waves. The December 2 post named Mortal Kombat 1, Death Howl, Dome Keeper and Routine, among other titles. Xbox Wire called that December post the month’s only “Coming Soon” post, but that does not establish that it captured every type of library update. |
How to check when a particular game arrived
For a title-specific answer, use the game’s Xbox Wire announcement as a dated record, and distinguish the date it was announced from the date it became available. Check the wording beside the title: “Available Today,” a stated upcoming date, “returning,” a newly eligible plan, EA Play access and a cloud-catalog listing describe different events. Also check the platform and plan listed for that game; a title’s appearance in an announcement does not mean it was included on every tier or playable on every device.

Why this is not a definitive annual master list
- The monthly announcement waves do not use one consistent definition of “addition,” and titles can be added outside the regular wave schedule.
- Xbox Wire’s October 8 post explicitly referred to surprise additions from the previous week, so a month-by-month wave list can miss off-cycle changes.
- The reviewed coverage does not include every relevant post or every title-level date and eligibility detail. In particular, it does not verify the first April wave or all September announcements.
- Official posts can be edited after publication. The May corrections show why a current, final version matters, especially when a claim concerns cloud access.
For those reasons, the entries above are useful starting points for identifying 2025 arrivals, returns and access changes—not a complete list, a guaranteed current catalog, or a basis for calculating a reliable annual total.
