This is a retrospective on Xbox Wire’s January 21, 2025 Game Pass announcement—not a current lineup update. Its headline count of 14 covers one game available that day and 13 later arrivals. The dates, platforms, and subscription tiers below describe what Xbox announced at the time, not what is in the catalog now.
What Xbox announced in January 2025
The announcement divided the batch into one title available on January 21 and 13 titles marked “Coming Soon.” The full schedule appeared on Xbox Wire on January 21, 2025.

“Console” is the platform wording used in Xbox Wire’s announcement; where it named a specific generation, that is shown in the table. All dates and tier labels are historical announcement details, not confirmation of present availability.
What the announcement said about the two headline games
Sniper Elite: Resistance
Xbox described the game as a tactical third-person shooter centered on sniping and stealth in occupied France, with the full campaign playable in co-op. Its later catalog status changed: a July 21, 2026 Xbox Wire update listed Sniper Elite: Resistance among titles leaving Game Pass on July 31, 2026. The 2025 announcement should not be used to infer that it remains included.

Far Cry New Dawn
The game is set in a transformed Hope County, Montana, 17 years after a global nuclear catastrophe, where the Highwaymen pursue the region’s remaining resources. It supports two-player co-op. The official Xbox Store listing identifies Ubisoft as its publisher and developer and lists Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S play. The listing currently says cloud playable with Xbox Game Pass Essential, Premium, or Ultimate, with purchase of the game required; that is not evidence that the game is included in a subscription catalog.

How to read the lineup today
- The January 2025 wave is useful as a record of that month’s announcement, not as a live Game Pass catalog.
- For current access, check the game’s present listing and your region’s catalog; historical dates and tier labels do not establish current availability.
- For Far Cry New Dawn specifically, distinguish the Store’s cloud-playable listing from subscription inclusion: the listing says the game must be purchased.
Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
