Yes. Xbox confirmed both games for its May 2025 Game Pass lineup: Revenge of the Savage Planet arrived May 8, and DOOM: The Dark Ages launched on May 15. At launch, Xbox listed both for Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, on Xbox Series X|S, PC, and cloud gaming. This is a historical lineup announcement, not a guarantee that either game remains in the catalog today.
May 2025 Game Pass dates, plans, and platforms
Xbox announced the first wave on May 6, 2025. Its announcement called both headline titles day-one Game Pass releases. The table reflects the tiers and platforms Xbox listed at that time, not their current availability.
| Game | Game Pass arrival | Day one? | Plans listed | Platforms listed |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Revenge of the Savage Planet | May 8, 2025 | Yes | Ultimate; PC Game Pass | Xbox Series X|S; PC; cloud gaming |
| DOOM: The Dark Ages | May 15, 2025 | Yes | Ultimate; PC Game Pass | Xbox Series X|S; PC; cloud gaming |
Xbox’s May 6 announcement did not list either game for Game Pass Standard or Core, and did not list Xbox One. Do not assume a different tier or device had access based on this announcement alone.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Which plan made sense for these games?
- Playing on PC: PC Game Pass was listed for both games, so Ultimate was not necessary solely to access their PC versions.
- Playing on Xbox console: Ultimate was the plan listed for both. Standard and Core were not listed for these titles in the May 6 announcement.
- Playing through the cloud: The announcement listed both for cloud gaming. Cloud access depends on supported devices, region, plan, and service availability; connection quality and latency also affect play.
Game Pass features and catalog access can vary by region, plan, platform, and time, as Xbox notes on its Game Pass page. Treat the May 2025 tier listing as a record of the announcement, not a current catalog check.

Subscribe, buy, or add the DOOM upgrade?
A subscription made sense for players who wanted to try both games and other titles in the same wave, provided their plan included the game and it remained in their regional catalog. Subscription access is not permanent ownership: access depends on an active eligible plan and continued catalog availability.
Buying the base game is the clearer option for players who want lasting access without maintaining Game Pass. For DOOM: The Dark Ages, consider the Premium Upgrade only if you already have access to the base game and want its additional campaign content and extras. Xbox’s current pages should be checked for regional pricing, plan details, and catalog status; its Game Pass page advertises plans starting at $9.99 per month, but that does not establish the price of every plan or market.
Is either game still on Game Pass?
The May 2025 announcement establishes when the games joined and which plans Xbox listed then; it cannot establish their catalog status in September 2026. Xbox’s current DOOM page still identifies the game as available with Game Pass, but catalog access can change and varies by region, plan, and platform. Check the live Xbox catalog for your account before subscribing or relying on access. The available current product-page information here does not establish whether Revenge of the Savage Planet remains included.
