Secondary US price-history reporting says the monthly price went from $19.99 to $29.99, then fell to $22.99 in April 2026. Microsoft also announced a separate cloud-gaming hour limit scheduled for November 2026. What happened to the price?
In the United States, GamePassPrices reports that Ultimate rose from $19.99 to $29.99 per month in October 2025, then dropped to $22.99 per month in April 2026. These figures come from a secondary price-history source; Xbox’s official US comparison page does not display a current US price in the retrieved text. The later reduction does not mean the 2025 increase never happened: it means the price story changed. Prices in other countries are separate. For example, Xbox Wire’s Portuguese-language announcement says the Brazilian monthly price fell from R$119.90 to R$76.90 on April 21, 2026. Those Brazilian-real amounts do not apply to US subscribers.

- Check your renewal details: Note the plan, next billing date and price shown in Microsoft account services or on your Xbox console. Promotional offers may have eligibility or market restrictions and can renew at the then-current regular price.
- Match the plan to your devices: Consider whether you play on console, PC, handheld or through cloud streaming, and whether the relevant feature and device are supported in your region.
- Count the benefits you use: If you rarely use a benefit included with Ultimate, compare the available lower-tier plan or the cost of buying particular games separately. Use current prices for your region and your own play habits.
- Account for cloud hours: If you regularly stream games, compare your monthly usage with the allowance announced for your plan, which is due to start in November 2026.
Recurring billing continues until canceled. Xbox directs subscribers to Microsoft account services or their console to cancel before the next billing date; check the account’s displayed date so you can act in time.
