When was the Xbox Games Showcase 2024?
The main Xbox Games Showcase aired on Sunday, June 9, 2024, at 10 a.m. Pacific Time, or 1 p.m. Eastern. It was followed immediately by the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Direct.
- 10 a.m. Pacific
- 11 a.m. Mountain
- Noon Central
- 1 p.m. Eastern
Xbox announced the event as a broad presentation spanning Xbox Game Studios, Bethesda, Activision, Blizzard and third-party partners—not just first-party Xbox releases. The original how-to-watch announcement has the historical schedule and viewing details.
Where can you watch the replay?
The best place to start is the official Xbox YouTube replay. Xbox also provided regional-language feeds through its local Xbox YouTube channels. If you prefer a written summary, use the Xbox Wire recap.

The replay is a double feature, but the two programs should be treated separately: the Xbox Games Showcase came first, while the Black Ops 6 Direct was the dedicated follow-up presentation.
What was expected before the showcase?
Before the event, several games had been officially signposted or were already part of Xbox’s marketing. The strongest expectations included Fable, Perfect Dark, Avowed, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, State of Decay 3, Doom: The Dark Ages, South of Midnight, Starfield: Shattered Space and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.
Black Ops 6 was not merely a rumor: Xbox had already announced the separate Direct. By contrast, speculation about unannounced Gears, Fallout, The Elder Scrolls projects and possible remasters was not confirmation. The official pre-show announcement established the event’s format and participating portfolios, not a complete game-by-game running order.

Everything major shown at the Xbox Games Showcase
The presentation mixed brand-new reveals with gameplay demonstrations, release-window updates, expansions, live-service content and partner trailers. Those categories matter: not every game shown was a new announcement.

The biggest new reveals
Gears of War: E-Day
The showcase ended with the reveal of Gears of War: E-Day, a new entry focused on the series’ defining historical catastrophe. Its announcement answered one of the event’s biggest pre-show questions without relying on rumor.

Doom: The Dark Ages
Doom: The Dark Ages was the other major new reveal. Bethesda described it as a prequel to Doom and Doom Eternal, presenting a medieval-inspired setting while retaining the series’ aggressive first-person combat identity. Bethesda’s official showcase recap contains its related announcements and trailers.
Perfect Dark and State of Decay 3
Perfect Dark received one of the presentation’s most substantial gameplay looks, while State of Decay 3 returned with new footage after a long period of limited information. Neither should be described as a newly announced game; both were previously known projects receiving important updates.
Indiana Jones, Avowed and Fable
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle showed more of its first-person exploration and action, and Xbox confirmed day-one Game Pass availability at launch. Avowed was still targeting 2024 when the showcase aired. Fable also received another look at its world and tone. Release windows stated during the 2024 broadcast should not be treated as final dates.

What was shown in the Black Ops 6 Direct?
The separate Direct immediately after the showcase was the worldwide gameplay-focused presentation for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. It provided the game’s dedicated gameplay reveal and should be credited separately from the main Xbox Showcase.
Xbox’s event format was significant because it placed a major Activision presentation directly after the broader Xbox program. However, calling Black Ops 6 simply “part of the Showcase” is imprecise: it was the second half of the announced double feature, not one uninterrupted editorial segment.

Those prices and availability statements were historical announcements for the 2024 holiday season. They should not be used as current buying guidance without checking the official Xbox console page and local availability.
What did the showcase mean for Game Pass?
Game Pass was an important part of the presentation, but the phrase “day one on Game Pass” does not mean every game shown was included, nor that every subscription plan had identical access. The 2024 coverage specifically announced day-one availability for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle at launch, while Black Ops 6 was also central to Xbox’s Game Pass messaging.
Catalogs, plan eligibility and availability can change. Check the official Game Pass page for current information rather than treating a June 2024 announcement as a guarantee about the catalog in 2026. PC players can also consult PC Game Pass for the current Windows offering.
Why the Xbox Games Showcase 2024 mattered
The event’s significance was its breadth. It combined Xbox’s own franchises with Bethesda, Activision Blizzard and third-party games, giving viewers new reveals such as Gears of War: E-Day and Doom: The Dark Ages, substantial updates for Perfect Dark, State of Decay 3, Indiana Jones, Avowed and Fable, plus a separate Black Ops 6 presentation.
