The latest dated XSplit Broadcaster update located is June 2026. XSplit says it improves Game Capture reliability, especially for DirectX 12 games, and outlines a Twitch Dual Format workflow using Multi Output Mode. The May 2026 release, version 4.6.2605.2109, added Live Captions and AI Voice Clarity. The available release information does not establish the newest build as of October 3, 2026, so check XSplit’s release updates for the current version.
June 2026: DirectX 12 capture and Twitch Dual Format
XSplit’s June update says Game Capture reliability improved, particularly for DirectX 12 games. The company names Forza Horizon 6, Cyberpunk 2077, and GTA V Enhanced as examples. This is XSplit’s description of its update, not an independently measured performance result. Read the June 2026 update.
The update also describes a Twitch Dual Format setup for producing horizontal and vertical layouts: use Multi Output Mode in Broadcaster, then enable Enhanced Broadcasting and Dual Format in Twitch channel properties. Availability and labels may change, so consult the current XSplit and Twitch instructions if the options differ in your account.
May 2026: captions, microphone processing, and setup defaults
Broadcaster 4.6.2605.2109 added Live Captions, tested with Twitch and YouTube Live, and AI Voice Clarity as a microphone noise-suppression option. Caption activation differs by platform:

- Twitch: Use the Live Captions tool in Broadcaster and follow its available controls.
- YouTube Live: Enable Send Caption in the tool, then enable Closed Captions in YouTube’s live pre-stream dialog.

The release also changed the pre-stream flow. Broadcaster can show the dialog for each stream or reuse previous stream details for Facebook, Kick, Twitch, Vimeo, and YouTube Live. Presentation Sources became the default Audio Mode, and Default Speaker and Default Microphones were added to the mixer by default. If audio routing changes after updating, check the selected Audio Mode and mixer inputs rather than assuming your former defaults remain.

March 2026: controls, Preview Editor, and platform features
Broadcaster 4.5.2603.0506 moved Stream and Record controls, revamped the Preview Editor workflow, added YouTube thumbnail support, and enabled editing Twitch broadcast details in the app. It also expanded automatic background removal to NDI and Webpage sources. If you use these workflows, expect some controls to appear in different places after updating. Check XSplit’s March update notes.
XSplit said YouTube Dual Stream encoder access was limited to select users at that time, and that stream-key credentials had to be copied manually. That is dated March 2026 guidance, not a guarantee of present-day access or setup requirements.

How to check the current version and handle a troublesome update
XSplit’s version guidance describes versions using major, minor, and patch components. Its support page says it generally supports versions downloadable from its site, maintains a minimum of two stable releases, and may replace an older version when a newer patch or minor or major release arrives. If a new release causes problems, XSplit directs users to download the latest previous stable version from its website. Because that guidance was originally published in 2017 and updated September 15, 2025, use the current support page for the applicable rollback instructions rather than relying on old example version numbers. The latest dated update located here is June 2026, but that does not prove it was the newest build available on October 3, 2026. Check XSplit’s release updates before installing or troubleshooting against a specific build.

XSplit’s system-requirements page, updated November 11, 2025, lists Broadcaster as Windows-only and specifies Windows 10/11 64-bit, 8 GB RAM minimum, a second-generation Core i5 or equivalent minimum processor, graphics in the GeForce or Radeon class with DirectX 10.1 or better, and 250 MB available storage. It recommends a fourth-generation Core i5 or equivalent for 720p and Core i7 or equivalent for 1080p. These are XSplit’s published requirements, not a guarantee of performance for every game, scene, encoder, or stream workload. Recheck the page before choosing hardware or an operating system because it predates the 2026 updates. XSplit Broadcaster system requirements.

When these updates matter most
- DirectX 12 game streamer: The June update is directly relevant if you use Game Capture with one of the named games, though XSplit does not publish a measured improvement percentage.
- Twitch creator producing vertical and horizontal layouts: Review Multi Output Mode and Twitch’s Enhanced Broadcasting and Dual Format settings.
- Captioning a live broadcast: The May update adds Live Captions, with a separate YouTube step for closed captions.
- Audio or source workflow changed after updating: Check Presentation Sources, the mixer defaults, and the revised controls and Preview Editor.
- Planning around YouTube Dual Stream: Verify current eligibility and whether manual stream-key handling still applies; the March release note described limited access at that time.
