You raise his Daddy Rank by doing chores and spending time with the children, cooking the dishes they request to unlock new stories, and selling the produce and crafts you earn at Morning Glory Market to pay for furnishings and ingredients. SEGA’s official material describes the loop clearly, but it does not publish unlock thresholds, rank names or step-by-step routes, so this guide sticks to what SEGA states and marks where the details must come from in-game.
Where Morning Glory fits in the Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties package
Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties is a two-game package. Yakuza Kiwami 3 is a remake of Yakuza 3, and Kiryu runs Morning Glory in Okinawa as part of that story. Dark Ties is a separate, all-new story centered on Yoshitaka Mine. SEGA’s launch announcement presents Morning Glory as part of Kiryu’s Yakuza Kiwami 3 campaign, so the activities described here belong to that portion of the package, not to Dark Ties.

How the caretaker loop works
SEGA’s Morning Glory feature page describes a simple sequence. Each part feeds the next:

- Growing into the role reveals a wider range of activities at the orphanage.
- Daily interactions with the children unlock child-specific storylines and raise Kiryu’s confidence as a father figure.
- Dishes requested by the children, once cooked, unlock new Morning Glory stories.
- Goods earned through the children are sold at Morning Glory Market to furnish the orphanage and buy ingredients.
SEGA does not publish how many interactions or chores each step requires, so treat the sequence as the order of progress rather than a schedule.

Daddy Rank: housekeeping and recipes
Daddy Rank is SEGA’s name for Kiryu’s growth as Morning Glory’s caretaker. At the start he has little housekeeping experience and can make only curry. He learns further recipes by completing daily chores. Cooking the dishes the children ask for is the route into new stories, so the kitchen and the storylines are closely linked.
SEGA’s material names Daddy Rank but does not list any other rank titles, recipe quantities, the specific dishes each child requests, or the exact requirement for each story. Those details are best confirmed in the game’s own menus and dialogue.

Rank #3
The children’s storylines
Spending time with the children unlocks their own storylines. SEGA says some of the children struggle to make friends, some worry about the future, and some have fallen in love. The official feature names eight children:
- Taichi
- Koji
- Shiro
- Mitsuo
- Ayako
- Riona
- Eri
- Izumi
SEGA gives two examples. Taichi wants to become a professional wrestler and has to recover from a loss in a youth sumo tournament. Riona is pursuing a dream, and Kiryu researches a makeup gift to support her. These examples show the tone of the stories, but SEGA does not say they are the only child stories in the game.
Rank #4
- Includes Yakuza Kiwami 3
- Continue the story of Kazuma Kiryu as he appears in a stunning remake of Yakuza 3
- Includes DARK TIES
- Experience the brand new story of Yoshitaka Mine from Yakuza 3 in an included separate game
Morning Glory Market
Items earned by spending time with the children, including produce and crafts, can be sold at Morning Glory Market. SEGA says the money is used to furnish the orphanage, buy new ingredients and make life there more enjoyable. This is the reinvestment side of the loop: the more you produce, the more you can improve the home. SEGA does not publish item prices, sales rules or the most profitable items.
Platforms and editions
SEGA’s announcement lists PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S and Steam, with a release date of February 12, 2026. Physical and digital editions are listed for some platforms, while the Xbox Series X|S and Steam versions are digital only. Availability and pricing vary by region and store, so check your local storefront before buying. The PlayStation Blog’s launch coverage also confirms the two-game package and the Morning Glory overview, including chores and child substories.
The activities described here are the same across the platforms listed in SEGA’s announcement, but SEGA’s material does not address performance or control differences between them.
What the official sources do not establish
- Exact Daddy Rank thresholds, or any rank name beyond Daddy Rank.
- Recipe quantities, the full list of requested dishes, or the requirements for each child’s story.
- Controls, scoring, rewards or item tables for the minigames.
- Missable content, hidden prerequisites or a full completion route.
If you need any of these, check the game’s own menus, journal entries and dialogue, as they reflect the build you are actually playing.
