Whether another original-Switch physical run will happen is unknown. The Nintendo Switch 2 edition is a separate release, and its physical game-key card is not an original Switch cartridge.
Is Yakuza Kiwami available physically on Nintendo Switch?
Yes. Limited Run Games lists both a Standard Edition and a Classic Edition for the original Nintendo Switch. The listings are currently marked sold out, so they establish that physical editions existed, not that they are available from the publisher or other retailers now. The Classic Edition listing describes a physical game copy with collector extras: a soundtrack, acrylic standee, Mesuking cards, and character cards. Limited Run Games’ Classic Edition listing and its Standard Edition listing document the editions and their listed status.

The apparent contradiction comes from release timing and context. SEGA’s Switch 2 announcement described the earlier Switch edition as digital when explaining the digital upgrade offer. That framing does not erase the later limited-run physical copies documented by Limited Run Games. It is more accurate to say that Yakuza Kiwami launched digitally on the original Switch and later had limited physical editions, rather than calling the game permanently digital-only.

| Original Nintendo Switch | Digital launch edition; Limited Run Games also lists physical Standard and Classic editions. | Limited Run Games’ physical listings are marked sold out. Current stock elsewhere is not established. |
| Nintendo Switch 2 | Digital edition and a physical game-key card edition. | SEGA Support says the physical version requires broadband internet and 22 GB of available storage to start playing. |
SEGA Support lists the original Switch release date as October 24, 2024, and the Switch 2 release date as November 13, 2025. A Switch 2 game-key card should not be confused with a cartridge release for the original Switch: they are editions for different console generations. SEGA’s support overview gives the Switch 2 physical-version requirements.

Could another original Switch physical edition be released?
It could happen, but there is no confirmation of another print run in the available official release information or Limited Run Games listings. Those sources also do not establish that another run is impossible. Treat future availability as unannounced rather than guaranteed or ruled out.
If you are looking for a copy now, the confirmed Limited Run Games listings are sold out; the sources cited here do not verify stock at Amazon or another retailer. Check any seller’s listing carefully for the platform and edition, since a Switch 2 copy will not serve as an original Switch physical release.

What the Switch 2 upgrade offer means
SEGA said owners of the original Switch digital edition could buy the Switch 2 digital edition for 990 yen, including tax. This was an upgrade offer described in SEGA’s November 13, 2025 announcement; it is not a price for a physical copy or a general price for other regions. SEGA’s Japan-market product table lists the Switch 2 game’s suggested retail price as 2,709 yen before tax, or 2,980 yen including tax. Check the relevant regional store for local pricing and availability. SEGA’s announcement gives the offer and Japan-market pricing.
