Yashiori Island is where the remains of the serpent Orobashi still lie in Genshin Impact. To start the island’s main quest, Orobashi’s Legacy, speak with Kaji near Fort Fujitou, then work through the island’s ward objectives, which send you to Musoujin Gorge and Serpent’s Head. Walkthroughs from July 2021 describe this route; check the in-game quest log if a step does not match what you see.
What Yashiori Island is
Yashiori Island is best understood through its lore. HoYoWiki, HoYoverse’s official game wiki, states that Orobashi’s remains still lie on the island after Raiden killed the serpent with the Musou no Hitotachi. The same entry credits the strike that killed Orobashi with creating Musoujin Gorge, so the giant skeletal remains and the split landscape are linked in the game’s own story.
HoYoWiki also says the exact reason behind Orobashi’s actions is unknown and records competing legends about it. If you are writing about the island’s history for other players, present those legends as legends rather than established fact.
Island landmarks and what they do in the quest
The island has several named subareas. Only some of them play a direct role in Orobashi’s Legacy, as the table shows. The seven-subarea list comes from the Genshin Impact Wiki on Fandom, a community-maintained reference, so treat it as a map orientation aid rather than an official breakdown of the island.

The first ward is at Musoujin Gorge. According to the LazyTitan97 walkthrough, you need to obtain a Rock Pillar Pearl and a Rock Pillar Warding Stone for this ward. Inspect every interactive component in the area, since the ward is not completed by a single action.

The Serpent’s Head ward
A later ward is at Serpent’s Head, according to the Soarling walkthrough. Complete it after the Musoujin Gorge ward, and follow the objective text in the quest log for the exact next step.

This claim appears in the Genshin Impact Wiki on Fandom, a fan-run reference, and is not an official HoYoverse statement. The official HoYoWiki entry does not establish it, so confirm the effect in the current game before relying on it.
How current this guide is
The walkthroughs underlying this guide date from July 2021, around the time Inazuma was released. Genshin Impact has received many updates since then, and quest wording, item names and map details may have changed. The island’s lore and the Fort Fujitou starting point are the most stable elements; treat the ward steps as a route outline and verify each objective against the quest log.
