One Nexus Mods listing advertises a version with grabs and abilities; a separate work-in-progress mod replaces Spider-Man’s black suit with Venom. Neither listing establishes that Venom is playable throughout the story campaign.
What the Venom mods let you do
The clearest supported feature is free roam as Venom, rather than a new official character mode. Nexus Mods lists “Venom FULL Free roam. (With Grab and Abilities)”; the title advertises grabs and abilities. A separate listing is explicitly labeled “Free Roam Venom (WIP)” and says it replaces Spider-Man’s black suit with Venom.

These are community-made PC modifications, not a mode announced by the game’s publisher. A February 5, 2025 gameplay showcase by CJR Gaming also described a PC Venom mod and credited it to okangel, but that video description is secondary evidence, not a compatibility test. CJR Gaming’s showcase provides an example of the mod being presented in gameplay.
Two listings, with different stated scope
| Listing | Stated scope | Status or installation detail | File date shown |
|---|---|---|---|
| Venom FULL Free roam. (With Grab and Abilities) | Free roam; title advertises grabs and abilities. | Installation method, current compatibility, and bug status are not established by the available listing details. | 10 February 2025 |
| Free Roam Venom (WIP) | Replaces Spider-Man’s black suit with Venom for free roam. | Marked work in progress; the listing names Overstrike as the application method. | 8 February 2025 |
The dates are file dates shown in the listings, not proof of when the mods were first released or whether they remain compatible with a current game build. The available details also do not establish which version is more stable, complete, or polished.

Does Venom work throughout the story?
That is not established. “FULL Free roam” describes the scope claimed by that listing, but it does not demonstrate access to every story mission, the entire campaign, or every game mode. Treat the feature as free roam unless the mod page provides current, explicit support for a particular mission or campaign sequence.
How to approach installation
The WIP listing says to apply its mod through Overstrike, but the available details do not provide a verified step-by-step installation procedure or confirm support for a particular game build. Check the current listing and the Overstrike instructions before installing; do not assume that instructions for one Venom mod apply to the other.

- Confirm that the listing is for the exact mod you intend to use.
- Check the mod page for current game-build compatibility, installation instructions, and known issues.
- For the WIP variant, follow the current Overstrike guidance rather than relying on an unverified procedure.
- Keep expectations to the features the listing actually describes; the available information does not verify campaign access or bug-free operation.
What remains unverified
The listings establish their stated free-roam intent, but the evidence available here does not confirm that either file works with the newest version of the game, that installation succeeds on a particular setup, or that the advertised features work without bugs. VGTimes also reported on a Venom mod release, but its coverage does not resolve those technical questions. VGTimes’ report is secondary coverage, not a compatibility reference.
