If your YouTube 24/7 stream keeps stopping on Tata Play Fiber, first test the streaming computer over Ethernet and check the stream’s timestamped health errors. A wired test separates Wi-Fi trouble from a problem with the internet connection; comparing stable upload capacity with your encoder’s total bitrate can show whether the stream has enough headroom. The checks below help locate the cause—they cannot identify an individual outage without its test results and logs.
First identify what “stops” means
Note the exact time of the problem and what happened from each point of view. These symptoms point to different parts of the setup, so do not assume every interruption is a Tata Play Fiber fault.
- The encoder disconnects or reports an error: Check its logs and output around the timestamp.
- The YouTube event ends: Check the Live Control Room’s health messages and event status.
- The event stays live but playback freezes: Compare YouTube’s health information with the encoder’s output and reports from other viewers.
- Only one viewer loses playback: Ask whether other viewers can still watch; a single viewer’s playback problem does not by itself establish that the broadcast stopped.
YouTube Live Control Room health messages include timestamps. Compare them with encoder logs and the time viewers noticed the issue. That evidence helps distinguish encoder trouble, YouTube ingestion or configuration errors, and an unstable outbound connection.
Test Tata Play Fiber on Ethernet
A direct Ethernet test is the clearest first step because it bypasses Wi-Fi between the streaming computer and router. Tata Play Fiber recommends LAN for more reliable speed testing and advises comparing wired and Wi-Fi results, testing at different times, and disconnecting unused devices during a controlled test.

- Connect directly: Plug the streaming computer into the Tata Play Fiber router with an Ethernet cable. Use a standard cable if you do not already have one; buying a new router is not a first diagnostic step.
- Reduce competing traffic: Pause cloud backups, large downloads, other live streams, and unnecessary network use. Disconnect unused devices if practical.
- Measure upload more than once: Record the date, time, connection type, and upload result. Repeat at a time when the stream usually fails; a single speed test does not prove that the connection will remain stable continuously.
- Compare Wi-Fi and wired results: If wired upload is consistent but Wi-Fi dips, investigate Wi-Fi coverage or interference. If wired upload also drops or the connection disconnects, preserve the results for Tata Play Fiber support.
Tata Play Fiber says Wi-Fi performance can be affected by distance, walls, interference, and congestion. Its FAQ describes the Smart Router as dual-band (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) and recommends central placement. If Ethernet is stable and Wi-Fi is not, try moving closer to the router and placing it centrally and higher up, away from large metal objects and common sources of interference. Choosing one Wi-Fi band alone is not a guaranteed fix.
Check whether upload capacity can sustain the encoder
Use the stable upload available during the stream, not the download speed shown in an internet plan headline. YouTube recommends leaving 20% upload headroom and warns that a connectivity disruption can break a stream. The combined outbound load—including a second stream if configured—needs to fit within the available upload with that margin.

YouTube’s encoder guidance gives the following H.264 video bitrate points. They are configuration guidance, not a guarantee that a particular connection can sustain them. Match the setting to your resolution, frame rate, and codec; also account for audio and any other outbound stream.

YouTube’s recommendations specify H.264, a constant bitrate (CBR) rate-control mode, and a 2-second keyframe interval for RTMP/RTMPS workflows; do not exceed 4 seconds. AV1 and H.265 bitrate guidance differs—for example, YouTube lists 10 Mbps for 1080p30 and 12 Mbps for 1080p60. Check the guidance for the codec you actually use rather than applying the H.264 figures to another codec. YouTube’s source page does not state a publication year for these figures or its 20% headroom recommendation.

If stable upload cannot accommodate the encoder’s total outbound bitrate and headroom, reduce competing household use or lower the encoder’s resolution or bitrate. Test the adjusted setup before relying on it for a long session.
Use YouTube and encoder errors to narrow the cause
Review the Live Control Room’s timestamped health errors alongside the encoder logs. Incorrect bitrate, format, codec, or audio configuration can cause ingestion errors, so an interruption is not automatically an ISP problem. YouTube’s troubleshooting guidance also recommends checking that the encoder is current, inspecting its output, and checking CPU load or recording behavior where relevant. If the encoder appears healthy, test the outbound connection.

If you are enabling YouTube Live for the first time, activation can take up to 24 hours. That setup delay is unlikely to explain intermittent stops on a stream that has previously worked.

Start with direct Ethernet, a controlled upload test, a router restart, and a check that cable connections are secure. Tata Play Fiber’s published guidance supports these basic checks and escalation when the problem persists; it does not establish that a special streaming setting is required.

Do not start by changing port forwarding, DNS, MTU, bridge mode, or firewall settings. The available Tata Play Fiber guidance does not identify those changes as a fix for this issue, and changing undocumented settings can make diagnosis harder. Likewise, do not replace the provider-supplied router or upgrade your plan unless wired tests or the provider’s diagnosis give you a reason to do so.
When and how to contact Tata Play Fiber
Escalate if the stream’s outbound connection remains unstable on Ethernet, or if the internet disconnects during a wired test. Tata Play Fiber advises restarting the router, checking cable connections, and contacting support or filing a request in its app when the issue persists. YouTube also recommends contacting the ISP if outbound connection testing reveals a problem.
Share concise evidence rather than only reporting that a stream stopped:
- Test dates and times, wired upload results, and whether the connection disconnected.
- That the streaming computer was connected directly by Ethernet, plus the router model if visible.
- The relevant YouTube Live Control Room health messages and encoder errors, with their timestamps.
- Whether the problem reproduces on Ethernet, happens at particular times, or coincides with household network use.
Tata Play Fiber’s FAQ lists app support or complaint escalation and the number 1800 120 7777. Support procedures and contact details can change; check the provider’s current channels before contacting it.
