For a 1080p, 24fps YouTube Live stream, use YouTube’s 1080p/30fps live bitrate range only as a nearby starting reference: 5–14 Mbps for H.264 or 4–10 Mbps for AV1/H.265. YouTube publishes no exact 1080p/24fps live recommendation, so test your actual footage and choose a stable bitrate your upload connection can sustain. Set rate control to CBR and keyframes to every two seconds.
Recommended settings for a 1080p, 24fps film playlist
These settings use YouTube’s live-encoder guidance. The bitrate figures are taken from its 1080p/30fps row because the live table has no 24fps row; they are a practical reference, not a published specification for 24fps.
| Setting | Recommendation | Important qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Resolution and frame rate | 1080p at 24fps | Use this if it matches your prepared source and your encoder can send it reliably. YouTube’s guidance allows up to 60fps but does not specify a 24fps bitrate. |
| Video bitrate, H.264 | 5–14 Mbps | Reference range from YouTube’s 1080p/30fps live row; its separate minimum is 5 Mbps. |
| Video bitrate, AV1 or H.265 | 4–10 Mbps | Reference range from YouTube’s 1080p/30fps live row; its separate minimum is 4 Mbps. |
| Rate control | CBR | YouTube lists constant bitrate for live encoding. |
| Keyframe interval | 2 seconds | YouTube recommends two seconds and says not to exceed four seconds. |
| Ingest protocol | RTMPS recommended | YouTube also lists RTMP. |
| Audio | AAC or MP3 | For 5.1 audio over RTMP/RTMPS, YouTube supports AAC only. |

How to choose a bitrate when YouTube gives no 24fps row
Start with the codec’s 1080p/30fps range
For H.264, use 5–14 Mbps as the nearest listed range; for AV1 or H.265, use 4–10 Mbps. These ranges are not film-specific and should not be presented as exact 24fps recommendations. YouTube does not publish an adjustment for films or for lower-motion footage.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Prioritize a stable connection
Choose a rate your upload connection can sustain consistently, rather than setting the encoder to a high number just because the table allows it. Test the connection and the actual signal before the broadcast, then check YouTube’s stream-health messages while live. A brief test with representative footage can reveal whether the chosen rate causes instability.
Do not substitute upload-video guidance
YouTube separately lists 8 Mbps for 1080p SDR uploads at standard frame rates, including 24fps. That figure applies to uploaded videos, not live encoding; use the live table’s closest frame-rate reference instead.

Test the playlist and monitor stream health
- Configure the encoder for the source format, chosen video codec, CBR, and a two-second keyframe interval.
- Send a private or unlisted test stream where possible. Include audio and moving footage representative of the film playlist, not just a static title card.
- Confirm the upload connection can sustain the selected bitrate and inspect YouTube’s stream-health messages for warnings or errors.
- If you change codec, bitrate, or network conditions, test again before relying on the setup for a long broadcast.
YouTube specifically advises testing with similar audio and movement to the intended stream. Film scenes can have less motion than sports or gaming, but that does not establish a special lower bitrate recommendation.
Choose a latency setting for the audience
Latency determines how far playback trails the live signal. Lower latency reduces delay but leaves less room to absorb delivery problems, so buffering can increase. For a prerecorded playlist with little audience interaction, the shortest delay may not be useful.

- Normal latency: Consider it when minimizing buffering matters more than quick audience interaction.
- Low latency: A compromise when some interaction is useful. YouTube says most viewers experience under 10 seconds of latency.
- Ultra-low latency: For broadcasts where near-real-time interaction matters; YouTube says most viewers experience under five seconds.
YouTube’s low- and ultra-low-latency options do not support 4K. See YouTube Help: Understand live streaming latency.
Confirm you have rights to rebroadcast every film
A film being publicly viewable on YouTube, or appearing in an existing playlist, does not by itself establish that you may rebroadcast it as a new live stream. YouTube says it scans all live streams for matches to third-party content. A match can replace the stream with a placeholder, interrupt it, or terminate it.

If you have licensed third-party material, YouTube advises asking the rights holder to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. A licence alone may not prevent an interruption if the channel has not been allowlisted. This is YouTube’s platform guidance, not a jurisdiction-specific legal determination. Read YouTube Help: Copyright issues with live streams and confirm that your rights cover the planned live use.

| Symptom | Likely issue to check | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Stream-health warnings or an unstable broadcast | The upload connection may not sustain the configured bitrate. | Test upload capacity, select a rate it can sustain, and run another representative test before going live. |
| Viewers report buffering after selecting lower latency | Lower latency reduces playback buffer and can increase buffering. | Consider normal latency, particularly if the playlist does not need live interaction. |
| Stream is replaced, interrupted, or terminated | YouTube may have detected a match to third-party content. | Check that you have live-rebroadcast rights; if licensed, ask the rights holder to allowlist your channel through Content ID. |
| Encoder settings do not match the prepared film | The source format and outgoing configuration may differ. | Use 1080p/24fps if that is the prepared source and the encoder sends it reliably, then test with representative footage and audio. |
Or let it run in the cloud
If you are broadcasting authorized prerecorded films as a YouTube playlist and do not want a computer or home connection to stay on, StreamNeo runs the uploaded video from the cloud. The setup is upload, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. It plays uploaded videos to YouTube; it does not stream from a camera.
