Set the live video bitrate to 8 Mbps (YouTube’s listed minimum is 3 Mbps), use stereo AAC or MP3 audio at 44.1 kHz and 128 Kbps, and choose Rec. 709 for SDR. Use RTMPS if your encoder supports it, and test the complete loop before going live.
Recommended settings for a 720p devotional loop
These settings suit a still image, gentle animation, or similarly low-motion devotional video. YouTube does not specify a Marathi-specific encoder profile: configure the stream for its resolution, frame rate, codec, audio, and available upload connection.

YouTube lists H.265/HEVC and AV1 as additional live video codecs. For 720p30, its listed recommended bitrate is 6 Mbps and minimum is 2 Mbps for AV1 or H.265; H.264 is 8 Mbps recommended and 3 Mbps minimum. These are live-ingestion recommendations. Choose a codec your encoder supports and test that the connection can sustain its target reliably. See YouTube’s live encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions.
Set up the stream in YouTube and your encoder

Open YouTube Live Control Room and create or schedule the live stream. If you need to lock the stream to 720p rather than use automatic detection, create a custom stream key and enable manual settings under Stream Resolution. YouTube recommends automatic resolution and frame-rate detection by default.

In Live Control Room, obtain the ingest URL and stream key. Select the RTMPS URL if your encoder supports it; do not assume that the ordinary RTMP URL is the secure endpoint. YouTube’s guidance says to use the RTMPS URL and stream key in the encoder. Keep the key private, and reset it in Live Control Room if it is compromised. See Manage live stream settings and Encrypt your stream using RTMPS.

In the encoder’s output or streaming settings, select H.264, CBR, 1280×720 progressive, 30 fps, and an 8 Mbps video bitrate. Set the keyframe interval to two seconds. If the encoder labels the interval in frames, use 60 frames at 30 fps.

Set audio output to stereo AAC or MP3 at 44.1 kHz and 128 Kbps. Select Rec. 709 for SDR and confirm square pixels and progressive scan if those controls are exposed.

Start the encoder’s output and wait for the signal to appear in the Live Control Room preview. Check that the image is 720p, the devotional audio is audible and in sync, and the loop transitions as expected. YouTube recommends testing with audio and movement similar to the real broadcast.

Start the live broadcast from Live Control Room when the preview and stream health look right. Continue monitoring stream health and audio/video quality while live. YouTube’s live streaming tips cover testing and monitoring.
Choose bitrate for the connection you actually have
For 720p30 H.264, use 8 Mbps as the target when the upload connection can sustain it consistently; 3 Mbps is YouTube’s stated minimum, not the recommended target. The connection must also carry audio and tolerate normal variation. YouTube recommends checking upload bitrate and making the connection reliable. If the signal struggles, test a lower setting or a codec and bitrate combination the connection can maintain rather than assuming a brief speed-test peak is sustainable.

For a 60 fps stream, YouTube lists the same 720p live-ingestion figures: H.264 at 8 Mbps recommended and 3 Mbps minimum; AV1 or H.265 at 6 Mbps recommended and 2 Mbps minimum. For a mostly static loop, 60 fps may add little; make that choice based on the source motion and a real preview test, not simply because the encoder offers it.
Latency and DVR: choose for how viewers will watch
Latency is the delay between capture by the encoder or camera and display to viewers. Lower latency can increase playback buffering. For a mostly one-way devotional loop without live audience interaction, there is usually little reason to choose an aggressive low-latency mode. Use a less aggressive setting unless timely interaction matters.

Enable DVR if viewers should be able to pause or rewind while the live stream continues. Latency and DVR address different viewing needs: one affects how quickly the stream reaches viewers, while the other lets them seek within the ongoing broadcast. YouTube explains these controls in Manage live stream settings.

Copyright and stream-key checks before going live

Confirm that you have the necessary rights to stream the devotional recording, music, artwork, and any other material in the loop. Devotional subject matter does not itself establish permission to rebroadcast a particular recording or song.

Protect the stream key as a credential. Do not publish it or include it in a screenshot; reset it in Live Control Room if someone else obtains it.

Run the complete audio and visual setup through the preview before the broadcast. A loop can reveal an abrupt transition, silent section, or audio-level issue that a short test misses.

Troubleshooting common problems
