The report does not provide enough benchmark detail to verify the result or explain its cause.
What the Yuzu FPS claim actually says
IT Home reported on March 14, 2023, that the frame rate for Metroid Prime Remastered in Yuzu 1361 was three times the rate in Yuzu 1341. The same report made that comparison for Super Mario 3D All-Stars. It also said the 1361 update optimized keyboard-and-mouse controls for Metroid Prime Remastered. IT Home’s report does not establish that the FPS figure applies to other games, later builds, or every PC.
Why the result is not a universal performance promise
The report identifies the two Yuzu versions and the game, but it does not give the hardware, game version, test scene, camera state, graphics API, resolution, settings, or shader-cache conditions. Without those details, readers cannot reproduce the comparison or determine how much each factor affected the result.
A useful controlled comparison would keep the PC, game version, in-game scene and camera state, graphics API, resolution, settings, and shader-cache state the same, changing only the Yuzu build. The cited report does not document those controls, so “three times” should be read as its reported result, not as a guaranteed gain on a particular setup.

What Yuzu’s other notes do—and do not—explain
Mouse and keyboard support
Yuzu’s February 2023 progress report describes mouse scaling for displays using more than 100% DPI scaling, improved mapping from mouse movement to stick input, and dedicated mouse-motion support for the game’s Dual Stick mode. Asynchronous ASTC texture decoding
The same report describes asynchronous ASTC decoding, which moves texture decoding to a background thread to address stuttering associated with ASTC textures. Yuzu notes that temporary graphical glitches can appear until decoding finishes. This is a texture-loading measure, not evidence for the threefold version-to-version frame-rate figure.

A separate June graphics change
Yuzu’s June 2023 report describes another graphics optimization with a general 1–3% frame-rate improvement and a larger reported gain in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. It also notes that a rendering regression affecting Metroid Prime Remastered was fixed. These are separate developments and should not be conflated with the 1361-versus-1341 claim. Why results can differ by scene and setup
An independent February 2023 Steam Deck account described performance at 60 FPS until entering first-person camera mode, when the author’s run fell to 30 FPS and felt sluggish. A later update suggested switching from handheld to docked mode. This is one user’s early observation, not a controlled benchmark, but it illustrates why a result from one scene or configuration may not describe another. The Verge’s Steam Deck report

What the update means for PC players
The 1361 comparison is historical: it concerns two Yuzu builds reported in March 2023. It does not establish the performance of current builds or their availability. The project notes support the narrower conclusion that Yuzu was making changes to input handling and graphics-related behavior; they do not show that any one of those changes produced the reported threefold gain.
Metroid Prime Remastered is a Nintendo Switch game, not a PC upgrade. Nintendo describes it as a remaster with HD visuals, enhanced sound, and modern dual-stick controls. Its UK product page lists March 3, 2023 for the physical game card; Nintendo’s February 8 announcement said physical copies would be available in stores February 22, reflecting different regional release information.
