007 First Light is already out on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC: IO Interactive released the James Bond game on May 27, 2026. The current release window for Nintendo Switch 2 is March 2027, according to IO Interactive’s support page updated September 15, 2026.
What is 007 First Light?
007 First Light is a standalone, original reimagining of James Bond’s origin, developed and self-published by IO Interactive in partnership with Amazon MGM Studios. It is not a direct adaptation of a Bond film or other existing Bond story. Bond is 26 and begins the story as a Royal Navy air crewman before being recruited into MI6. IO Interactive describes the game and its premise.

The game is a single-player, third-person action-adventure built around stealth and action. Players can favor a quiet approach, take on threats directly, or combine the two; the PlayStation listing also highlights gadgets and vehicles. IO Interactive’s launch announcement names Patrick Gibson as James Bond, Priyanga Burford as M, Lennie James as John Greenway, and Lenny Kravitz as Bawma. When did 007 First Light come out, and what platforms is it on?
It launched May 27, 2026, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. IO Interactive’s support page lists PC availability through Steam, Epic Games Store, and Microsoft Store, and says the game is available on ROG Ally through Xbox Play Anywhere. For Nintendo Switch 2, the same support page, updated September 15, 2026, gives a March 2027 release. IO Interactive’s FAQ still lists summer 2026, so its own pages conflict; the later-dated support update is the more current official timing. The FAQ contains the older window.
Is 007 First Light multiplayer, and can you play it offline?
There is no multiplayer mode. IO Interactive’s FAQ says the game does not include a multiplayer experience, so it is designed for solo play. The main campaign can be played offline after an initial internet connection to download the Day 1 patch. Online features such as challenges and leaderboards require an internet connection, and some rewards require an IOI account; an account is not required to play. Which 007 First Light edition should you choose?
IO Interactive lists Standard, Specialist, Collector’s, and Legacy editions. The available contents can vary by platform and retailer, so confirm the selected store’s listing before buying. The support page’s edition comparison lists the base game and digital items across editions; Collector’s adds a lifesize mask prop replica, Legacy includes a Golden Gun figurine, and both Collector’s and Legacy list a Steel Case. The FAQ identifies Amazon as a seller of the Specialist Edition and provides a retailer lookup for Legacy and Collector’s editions. The PS5 product page lists Standard and Deluxe. These options are not interchangeable: compare the live listing for your platform, the included digital extras, and whether you want the physical collectibles. IO Interactive announced US launch suggested retail prices of $69.99 for Standard, $79.99 for Deluxe, and $299.99 for Legacy in 2025. Those are historical launch prices, not current quotes. Store prices and promotions can change; check the selected storefront for the price and edition contents available now. The original price announcement also gave launch SRPs in euros and pounds.
What are the PC requirements for 007 First Light?
IO Interactive’s support page, updated September 15, 2026, lists these minimum and recommended PC specifications. Both configurations require an SSD and 80 GB of available storage; the official page lists 16 GB of RAM for each. What accessibility options are available?
IO Interactive lists subtitles and captions, some control remapping and stick-sensitivity settings, preset difficulty options, simplified quick-time events, and the ability to pause during offline play. The PlayStation version lists additional controls and accessibility settings, so options may differ by platform; check the relevant platform listing for specifics.
