Which Final Fantasy games are available on Android?
Square Enix’s Google Play catalog lists the first six numbered games, Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy VIII Remastered, Final Fantasy IX, and Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions. The list below focuses on those ten premium entries, with a separate look at Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis because its free-to-start mobile format makes it a useful alternative rather than a like-for-like port.

The order is an editorial guide, not a claim that one game has been objectively rated above another. For entries whose full Play listing was not verified here, the recommendation is limited to what the catalog establishes: that the Android title is listed. Check the listing in your region for current availability, price, features, and device requirements.

2. Final Fantasy VII — best-known entry, with a device caveat
Final Fantasy VII is a natural pick for anyone who wants the series’ best-known Android release. Square Enix’s Play listing says the game has sold “over 11,000,000 units worldwide”; the figure combines packaged sales and downloads and is not an Android sales total.
The Android listing requires Android 6.0.1 or later and more than 4 GB of free space for download. Recent user reports on the listing mention crashes and control or port issues; these are user reports, not proof that every device has the same problem. Check recent reviews for your device before purchasing.

Which Final Fantasy game should you start with on Android?
- Want a cast-focused story? Start with Final Fantasy VI Pixel Remaster; its official listing emphasizes the ensemble and character customization.
- Want the most recognizable entry? Consider Final Fantasy VII, but check storage, compatibility, and recent user reviews first.
- Want refreshed 2D presentation? Look at a Pixel Remaster. The official details described above apply specifically to the checked listings for Final Fantasy and Final Fantasy VI; do not assume every early-series Android game has the same features.
- Want something outside the numbered RPG list? Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions is the catalog-listed tactical option.
- Want a mobile-first, free-to-start format? Compare Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis below; it uses a different model from the premium entries.
How Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis differs
Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis is not one of the ten premium catalog picks above. Square Enix describes it as a smartphone-oriented game with chapters spanning Final Fantasy VII and Crisis Core, an original Sephiroth story, auto and double-speed battle options, and multiplayer. That makes it a distinct choice if you want a mobile-focused format and stories drawn from more than one part of the Final Fantasy VII setting.
Ever Crisis includes in-app purchases, and Google Play labels them as including random items. Its listing recommends Android 8.0 or later, an ARM v8a 64-bit processor, Snapdragon 845 or newer, and at least 4 GB of RAM. Square Enix also cautions that some in-game video may not work properly depending on device specifications.
Quick Recap
What to check before installing or buying
- Open the local Google Play listing. Availability, prices, and ratings can differ by region and change over time.
- Check the exact device requirements. Verified requirements are available for Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster, Final Fantasy VI Pixel Remaster, Final Fantasy VII, and Ever Crisis in the descriptions above. Do not infer requirements for the other catalog entries from those games.
- Check recent reviews for device-specific issues. This is especially relevant to Final Fantasy VII, whose listing includes user reports of crashes and control or port problems.
- Understand the payment model. The checked Pixel Remaster listings for Final Fantasy and Final Fantasy VI describe a one-time purchase with no additional payment needed to complete the game after purchase and download. Ever Crisis has in-app purchases. Do not assume every Android Final Fantasy game follows either model.
Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
